Democratic star and Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has sparked outrage after tweeting a photo of herself posing indoors with masked-up students — without wearing a mask herself.
Abrams, 48, joins many of her Democratic peers including California Gov. Gavin Newsom and San Francisco Mayor London Breed, who have been seen gallivanting indoors without masks despite supporting strict face-covering mandates.
The former state minority leader initially tweeted the photo herself at Glennwood Elementary School in Atlanta Friday, writing “Spending time with Glennwood’s amazing students, faculty and staff ranks as spectacular, delightful and outstanding.”
Not only were the pictured students wearing masks, but all the adults in the room also appeared to be masked. *** Abrams’ campaign manager Lauren Groh-Wargo tweeted that “Our opponents took a brief break from licking Trump’s boots this weekend to issue baseless attacks.”
Groh-Wargo also tried to downplay the incident, explaining in another tweet that Abrams only removed her mask “so she could be heard by students watching remotely and for photos” with kids wearing face coverings.

Just last week, Newsom came under fire after posing maskless for a photo during the 49ers-Rams NFL game – defying a local mandate and the LA stadium’s own requirements. The Democratic insisted he was “very judicious” about wearing the mask and only took it off for a photo.
And when both San Francisco Mayor Breed and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti smiled for a maskless pic with Magic Johnson at the same game, Garcetti claimed he held his breath for the pic, which prevented him from contracting COVID-19.
Breed caused a stir in September, too, when after issuing one of the strictest indoor mask mandates in the state, she was photographed at a city jazz club dancing and singing without a mask. ***

She will aver that she was holding her breath.
All the politicians do this anymore....photos are plentiful.
I HATE those muzzles, but I would wear one around Stacy Abrams.
That awful photo reminds me of a funny family story. When our son was a bit younger than those kids, maybe 3-1/2 or 4, we were at an amusement park and saw a woman as obese as Abrams. My son said to me “Dad, that lady is REALLY FAT!” I explained it wasn’t nice to make such “fat” comments about people, especially when they might hear. An hour later, we ran into the same woman and my son said “Dad, there’s that lady who isn’t so skinny.”
“Rules aren’t for me don’t you know that???” Same ole hypocritical dem.
It's the old "Republicans Pounce" angle to any story where a Democrat is caught doing something wrong. The story isn't what they did wrong, it's how the Right is attacking the Democrat.
That’s how they like it.
Socialism just restores medieval power structures.
This is a pic of a noblewoman surrounded by her serfs.
So masks are great and she ought to be wearing one?
I’m confused. No mask = bad behavior?
Abrams’ critics don’t understand how much cubic feet of oxygen she needs. LOL
How did they get a forklift into that room, to lift-up that ugly, fat sweathog?
What most boomers don’t get:
It’s not hypocrisy, it’s hierarchy. Calling out their hypocrisy every day isn’t making anyone step down in embarrassment. They are better than you.
She came up with the concept that she wanted to give a nice smile just for the picture and couldn’t do that with a mask on.
What? Is not conceivable that those kids forced to cover half their face with a mask wouldn’t like to have the world, their parents, their friends, see their smiles?
These Democrats are just so dumb thoughts are things that never enter their head.
They’ll all be gone soon.
The real danger: Being downwind when masks don’t work.
Ok boys, girls, gender fluid cookie snatchers, it’s reading circle time with the authoritarian queen. Take your place and know your place.
Why do the words “pig” and “Animal Farm” come to my mind right now?
What a moron.....
“Look at what we have done”
Can’t make this stuff up.
