I totally agree, however I don’t think it’s likely to ever happen.

It never does. Sad that we can predict it and resign ourselves to accepting it.

“I have no doubt that in a level 3 facility, not only would it have been harder to get accidentally infected with a pathogen being studied, it would have been harder to get your hands on, ...”

Don’t bet on it. Once you get on staff there are few if any safeguards to accessing all types of materials, including biologicals.

That was an interesting article. So if the NIH said it wasn’t gain of function then Fauci could be said to be telling the truth as far as he knows it?

the only purpose for “gain-of-function” research is to develop a bioweapon, the antidote or treatment against a bioweapon, or, if you’re China, perhaps a “humanicide” ....

I wanna see all the “antidote/treatment” options flowing out of such research........and no Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine don’t count ...

In China, maybe. but I have zero doubt that going from a level 2 where you can wear a lab coat and goggles to a level 3 where you wear a biohazard suit also comes with an additional bureaucratic burden which would likely include chain of custody and logging, complete certainty at a level 4 which handles things like smallpox, anthrax, Marburg, and Ebola, so I assume as that lethality of the virus increases, the level of protection increases, as does the tracking and logging.

Whether people follow it in a Level 3 versus a Level 2, I have no experience and cannot say. But I would bet $1000 that the rules include those increased restrictions as the lethality of the viruses increases.

I don’t think we’re accepting it, as our complaints here show. Unfortunately, this is in fact about all we can actually do - keep the memories alive, and try to influence others to shape public opinion. Moving to DC to become a full time activist just isn’t in the cards, at least not yet. Thanks.

I believe that Obama had outlawed gain of function research, and THEY believed it still had to be done, so they just outsourced it to Wuhan.

We need a new Nuremberg trial with executions following.

That Fauci allowed US taxpayer dollars to be sent clandestinely to the Wuhan Lab is criminal. One also has to ask who runs the Wuhan Lab. In China there is no separation of powers thus the Chinese military has full access to the work at Wuhan and could easily be using it for its own biowarfare research. COVID 19 has demonstrated that a more lethal version of the virus could quickly decimate the world. While I am inclined to believe the release of the virus was not deliberate, the Chinese certainly noted the economic devastation caused by it and how in many countries the Chinese style social credit tyranny was nearly implemented

Perhaps to some degree. Maybe things have changed in the last few years.

Bringing dangerous viruses out of caves and into labs doesn’t prevent pandemics, it causes them.

There are many well funded mainstream leftist groups that would love to kill off 20% of humanity. They love how this flu killed around 5% of pensioners that got it, shut down the free market for years, cleared the air of smog, and devastated the oil, airline, cruise ship industries.

Biotechnology has reached the point that one leftist, crazed with envy, could create new viruses in their mother's basement, then spray the mixtures in the air on government transportation systems. George Soros alone could fund 10,000 basement leftists, and make 10,000% profits shorting the market. Many leftists, with hearts black enough to murder babies in the womb, are more than willing to do this, and the Wuhan lab has shown them what is possible.

The bell curve of communist evil has gotten wider.

I suggested Nuremberg 2.0 of Facebook today, and was BANNED for 24 hours, banned for 2 days from posting in any FB groups. They really want to suppress that idea.

Labs across the world delving into genetics and how virii invade and alter genetic codes in critters needs to be investigated. And, any lab in country A ought to share with any other country — that is how science works outside CNN. Saying (like the CCP is claiming) that since the US worked on bits here and there they/we are to blame is BS. The Wuhan Lab screwed up and like all commie trash regimes, the CCP covered it up.
Gain of function, tho, is a puzzle. Virii arise spontaneously all over the place. Knowing which one is next on the “attack humans or their food chain” pathway would be immensely valuable. The problem is speed — the speed of a virii making the jump and the glacial speed of making a real vax. GofFunction is a way of speeding up virii evolution in a lab so you get a head start. Wuhan screwed up by not keeping it in the lab. See “Andromeda Strain” movie.
My suggestion is put all GofF on a lab in Pacific. With a nuke . If a release alarm goes off, bang. Build another lab. At very least, it will perfect research-at-a-distance and alarm technology.
Yeah, yeah, I know the “AS” movie had the nuke as a bad thing. That was a fluke for dramatic purposes and as a hit on nuclear tech.

I am definitely going off of how I know things are stepped from a procedural level for many things, I could be wrong on this kind of thing.

I know what you are trying to say but from a technical standpoint they might be able to do so with a bacterial pathogen but not with a virus. That would require tissue culture and would require a biological safety cabinet to keep it from being contaminated. It’s hard enough to keep it from getting contaminated in a lab.
