Christian crowdfunding site GiveSendGo opened a campaign Friday for the Freedom Convoy truckers demonstrating in Ottawa, Canada, raising more than $2 million by Saturday night.
The new campaign opened after GoFundMe canceled the truckers’ first fundraiser, which had raised around $10 million.
By 9 a.m. Sunday morning, the GiveSendGo campaign had netted $2.4 million of the new $16 million goal.
“We’ve decided to team up with an organization called GiveSendGo, which is going to enable us to get donations into the hands of truckers much much quicker,” said Tamara Lich, an organizer with Freedom Convoy 2022.
GoFundMe announced Saturday that it would refund all the money donated to the Freedom Convoy of truckers. Donors’ contributions would be returned automatically.
The GiveSendGo campaign page states that donations will be used to help truckers with costs of fuel, food, and lodging.
“We plan on being here for the long haul — as long as it takes to ensure that your rights and freedoms are restored,” Lich said. “From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you very much."
We are hearing, but have not validated, that @GiveSendGo is experiencing server issues and a possible denial of service attack.

The inundation of donations on GiveSendGo is reportedly causing some server difficulties for the crowdfunding site.
Rumble tweeted Saturday that it is willing to offer support, to which GiveSendGo replied that it had sent a direct message.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, along with state attorneys general from West Virginia and Louisiana, promised Saturday to investigate GoFundMe's removal of the Freedom Convoy's page.
The thousands of truckers are heading into their tenth day in Canada’s capital protesting against COVID mandates.
The optics of such a handout would make great video.

When GFM announced they were shutting down the account the other day, they initially said that they would be giving the money to charity! I see that was quickly changed to refunding the money. I thought who the hell do they think they are! That would have been stealing. Leftist aholes

I don’t know. The article indicated it would be through ‘auto’ deposit; which is pretty standard for refunds. I would think we’d hear about it if that many people do not get their money back.

Ottawa officials lied to GFM that there was “violence” and GFM seized on that lie without investigation to shut down the truckers donations ... Ottawa mayor publicly tweeted to GFM, thanking them for responding to their request that the donations be shut down ..
The lie was to let GFM off the hook for letting their bias be exposed yet again...

Here is one thing the State Investigators can do.
They can demand to see all communications between GOFUNDME and Ottawa and Canadian Officials.
Was there collusion between GOFUNDME and Ottawa and Canadian Officials?
They will hit their goal of 16 million within one week.
That would be great to find out about these communications and they get charged with crimes.
