Chinese President Xi Jinping Formally Supports Russia's Opposition To NATO Expansion At Meeting With Putin At Beijing Olympics

BBC reports on President Putin's meeting with President Xi of China just before the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Also, RT provides an English-language version of the photo-op comments from Putin.

China's leader "gave his support to Russia's security and foreign policy aims," according to the BBC.

"China also gave its backing to the idea that NATO needs to halt its expansion."

The two leaders accused the US and NATO of "ideologized Cold War approaches" to defense policy, an illusion to Washington’s support for Ukraine and Russia's fears that the trans-Atlantic alliance has ambitions to expand its presence on Moscow's doorstep.

"Regarding our bilateral relations, they are, indeed, developing steadily in the spirit of friendship and strategic partnership," Putin said in publicly-broadcast comments before the start of the discussions. "They have acquired a truly unprecedented nature and are an example of worthy relations that help both parties to develop and, at the same time, support each other in their development."

“Friendship between the two States has no limits, there are no ‘forbidden’ areas of cooperation, strengthening of bilateral strategic cooperation is neither aimed against third countries nor affected by the changing international environment and circumstantial changes in third countries,” the document reads.

Yeah they got abused by the Soviet Union.

Although Ukraine was under Russian control for a long time.

Even the Crimea was under Russia before the U.S. Constitution even became a country (1783). U.S. Constitution (1787).

Xi has to be just a bit uncomfortable around Putin. While he ostensibly supports Putin’s goals in Ukraine, he knows that if Putin is successful in regaining “Russian territory”, there will be enormous pressure on Xi to definitively act on Taiwan. Yet Xi knows that an attack across 90 miles of open ocean may not be successful if the people of Taiwan are determined to put up a stout resistance. If the attack fails and the Chinese communists take huge casualties, Xi, his family and his acolytes will be not very gently deposed. An irate military, feeding on the resulting economic and political crisis might even stage a coup against the “corrupt” Communist Party. Much is at stake in the next few months.

This is true. However, the Soviet Russians ceded all of Crimea to Ukraine in 1954. When the USSR imploded in 91, Ukraine became a sovereign nation, soon after.

That’s nonsense.

There was no independence under the Soviet Union.

Both were still under the Soviet Union until the break up in 1991.

It’s clearly in China’s self interest to divide and weaken NATO. NATO naval forces are increasingly patrolling with the US/India/Japan/Australian naval forces in the Pacific.

NATO and Japanese naval forces are very technologically advanced...and now Australia has recognized the threat of China and will be building and advanced class of US attack submarines.

The Chinese/Russian new axis of evil is away and running. They must be defeated, and that includes Russian imperial quests in Europe.

That is not what I said, the history is factual.

The Soviets ceded Crimea to Ukraine SSR is 1954.

The Soviets imploded and Ukraine became a sovereign nation, including Crimea, soon after.

The Russians signed treaties to confirm this.

Those not under the Soviet Union were part of the Warsaw Pact. Which was the counter to NATO.

I actually agree somewhat.

NATO participation SHOULD be limited. For instance, I’m not so wild about Turkey being in NATO, as they always try to play both ends against the middle.

Thanks, free traitors, for sending our manufacturing, technology, and money to the Chicoms. I hope that $.10 you saved on communist made paint brushes is worth what you did to this country.

Not according to Ukraine, Germany and France that just signed an agreement for no war in the Ukraine. Yes that just happened

The Ukraines are saying Biden is lying, and Russia is not doing anything.

Even the Germans told the U.K. they will not let military flights over Germany to Ukraine. Germany is pissed at Biden and will not even meet with him.

Biden told Western Europe to get their energy from Russia when he took over in January 2021. Biden had shut down fracking, Key Stone pipeline, AMWAR, etc... drilling over here via an executive order, and said we will go back to importing Oil. At the time we had become #1 exporter of oil in the world. Anyhow, Germany and France know if they go to war with Russia over Ukraine, then their energy costs will sky rocket. Hence, why they do not want a war with Russia.

You are factually incorrect.

Russian signed agreements recognizing Ukrainian independence and Crimea being a part of sovereign Ukraine.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Crimea
“With the collapse of the Soviet Union, Crimea became part of the newly independent Ukraine and its status was upgraded to Autonomous Republic. Independence was supported by a referendum in all regions of Ukrainian SSR, including Crimea”

*** “In 1994, the legal status of Crimea as part of Ukraine was backed up by Russia, who pledged to uphold the territorial integrity of Ukraine in a memorandum signed in 1994, also signed by the US and UK.[39][40]”

You have been absorbing Russian propaganda. There is a history of events that is factual.

In the commodity auto parts sector, manufacture went from the US to Mexico to China over the last couple decades.

Now I see parts from Vietnam, Indonesia, and India.

I suspect the Chinese have moved up the ladder price-wise.

Yup the Chicoms do what they always do.... Betray everyone.
So all the so called “geniuses” in DC got duped once again.

This is what happens when you have university dumba$$es that do not have real world experience. All they have is the 5 books they read back in college.

They arrogantly and ignore what the people with the real world experience tell them because they think they are the smartest people in the room. They have no clue what they are doing, and screw everything up.

We give too much leverage for people with degrees. I am sorry but many of them are certified dumbasses that are easily duped soy boy beta cucks.

The only thing a degree tells us is they have good memory in some instances. It does not translate into an intelligent person.
