During his February 3 YouTube livestream, outspoken conservative rocker Ted Nugent discussed his plans to hit the road in support of his new album, "Detroit Muscle", which is due on April 29 via Pavement Music. The follow-up to 2018's "The Music Made Me Do It" was recorded with Ted's current band, which includes bassist Greg Smith and drummer Jason
"Tickets go on sale tomorrow, I think, for this gonzo beach party rock and roll concert headlined by Ted Nugent in Panama City [Florida] on April 29th," Ted said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). "Write that down. That's confirmed. There'll be no mask mandates; there'll be no bull***. And the next night, the headliner is my buddy Kid Rock. I'm not promising anything except we're gonna rock your brains out, but on the 30th when Kid Rock is headlining Panama City, the big beach party concert, he always plays [Nugent's classic song] 'Cat Scratch Fever' every night, so maybe I'll stick around and go up there and show him how to play it. It's a possibility."
Ted, who battled COVID-19 in April 2021, went on to say that he and his representatives are "working" on a full tour to promote "Detroit Muscle". "We've got a lot of dates," he said.
"2020, the communist Chinese in the White House wouldn't let the tour happen," he continued. "Well, some people went on tour. And they played a place where you had to show paperwork or wear a mask. I'm not playing a place that plays Nazi jackboot. If there's some kind of unconstitutional mandate… By the way, mandates… You can't mandate shit. You can't mandate anything to me. You have no mandate authority. This isn't communist China, even though Joe Biden thinks it is, and he's helping it become that.

I saw a show the other night in an industrial part of town, in a brewery...a fully-functional bar (and bathrooms), no paperwork required to enter, and no enforcement of the town's mask "guidance." And the band rocked.
👍🏽👍🏽
Nugent said the same thing a couple weeks ago on Joe Rogan’s podcast.
I watched Joe Rogan interview Ted Nugent for 3 hours a couple of months ago.
“I saw a show the other night in an industrial part of town, in a brewery...a fully-functional bar (and bathrooms), no paperwork required to enter, and no enforcement of the town’s mask “guidance.” And the band rocked.”
My cousin went to Sturgis 2 straight times recently. You described his experience. No exaggeration, Extremely rare to see one mask idiot.
Uncle Ted still rockin’ the house at 73 huh? I did not know that.
Been to a ton of rock shows in my time and I can say with out a doubt his was the absolute loudest I ever went to.....by a long way.
My ears rang for a full day after.
It’s no wonder he has hearing loss.
What I like about him most.....he takes crap from NO man.
There are countless ways for entertainment to get from creator to consumer without flowing through a statist pipeline. You're in the business, and I bet you know (and can't tell us without killing us) how the REAL innovators are not just developing but filming AND distributing solid content without forcing the consumer to violate their conscience.
This has been going on for decades - I once attended a punk rock flea market in an old factory, and an independent horror film screening at a metal club on a Thursday night.
In GA it is supposedly up to the promoter whether vax/masks are required. The venues go along with the promoters. We raised a stink with one ticket seller about this, as they changed the terms and conditions after the tickets were purchased to require vax or negative test. They took our concerns “under investigation”. They got around it by blaming the promoter. Now there are disclaimers on ticket sales sites that basically say “tough cookies, plebe. No concert or refund for you.”
I may be done with concerts if this doesn’t change. Not many left I haven’t seen, and very little new talent of any interest whatsoever.
Ted Nugent.
Neil Young.
Thunderdome.
That settles it - I’m avoiding any venues who want me vaxxed 🤪
In the mid-70s, Ted was banned from ever playing outdoors in Kansas City, due to the volume of his set at an all-day concert. I don’t recall if he played at Arrowhead or Royals stadium (they’re next to each other,) and I couldn’t go, because I had to work. But I could hear his set quite clearly, and I lived 16 miles away from the stadium!
As I recall at the time, Ted’s guitar rig was either 6 or 8 Fender SuperTwin Reverb amps and the same number of Dual Showman cabinets, with 180 watts, 2x12” & 2x15” speakers each!
But you’re right, having gone to several Ted Nugent concerts over the years, his were the loudest concerts I’ve ever attended.
Mark
Yeah I failed to mention the times I saw him it was an indoor venue and that sound had nowhere to escape to except into the brains of those in attendance.
How people stood at stage front I’ll never know....at times during the show I actually had eardrum pain.
