As a world leader in medals in the Olympic Games, it is clear that China’s athletes are far from the amateurs. However, according to those who have been through the Chinese system, the nation’s child athletes suffer horrific treatment as they are groomed for Olympic gold.
Unlike most other countries, the Chinese Communist Party carefully grooms its athletes, even in childhood, to be top competitors. In contrast, other countries only begin eyeing athletes as they rise through competition.
Indeed, China operates a massive, government-supported athletic program that combs its nation of 1.4 billion citizens to find the best candidates for its athletic programs.
But the operations are not without controversy as many of the children ushered into these programs are raised in a brutal environment of strict controls, including DNA testing, humiliating treatment, beatings, and a lack of freedom for the athletes.
The young athletes who find themselves in China’s Olympics mills are expected to hand over all thoughts of personal freedom to the state as they train.
The Communists begin by instituting invasive DNA testing of children across the country to find the best pool of candidates for athletic programs. Then, instead of waiting for children to exhibit an interest in sports, the Chinese government uses DNA results to impose athletic training on children.
The kids are then removed from their families and placed in wide-ranging training camps to develop their talents.

Boycott. Boycott. Boycott.
And they said Urban Meyer was bad. See, he wasn’t that bad.
Gee China must be a wonderful place for a perso.....ca...hou....to be manufactured, china truly is a nightmare of epic proportion.
I believe we should boycott the Olympics.
Hmmm, maybe sportsball is just a little too important to too many people. Maybe.
“..... China’s athletes are far from the amateurs....”
The Olympics ceased being for amateurs during the Cold War when the Communist counties used their international sports programs as part of their foreign policy.
American Olympic athletes today are mostly professional athletes.
Lead from behind-heard it somewhere.
“China’s athletes are…” not Christian, not free, not happy and not worth watching. The men’s skating on 2/3 on NBC was depressing: empty stadium, dim lighting, weird music, and big masks on the few people there. Why have an empty stadium? Is it because China and NBC are pushing the covid scam? 2022 Olympics = Covid fears and threats.
China must be doing something right, they still have “Most Favored Nation” status with us.
So what happens when no on watches anymore?
Oh yeah, the Olympics. When is that?
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Keep your politics out of the Olympics. This is about athletic competition, not your politics. So irritating to see people who have so little appreciation for what athletes go through to get to the Olympics and be able to compete in them.
Those athletes welcome the interaction and competition among their world peers. There are lots of problems around the world that need solved. Sorry but I get so disgusted when I see someone with so little appreciation.
That is the China of Xi Jinping. Under Deng and his two successors, China was open and, from reports, not a bad place to live ; things were not as bad.
While Deng’s Tiananmen Square massacre was horrific, that is nothing to the genocide of the Uyghurs.
Now we have Xi’s CCP obsession to show the world what a marvelous people the Han are though their athletes, never mind which sex or their treatment before or after. This is all part of the CCP’s massive worldwide propaganda campaign.
Your supporting Communist china.
Have fun with your bread and circus.
“....Keep your politics out of the Olympics....”
Agree, 100% - they need to keep their focus and not bombarded with politics and national morality.
It might surprise people, but athletes from nations which hate each other, often become friends. Hanging out together in Olympic village you never see any ranting and raving, but groups of athletes talking, laughing.
I'm supporting people, ordinary people, in China, people that if you spent an evening with over dinner and drinks you would find to be much like you. I don't want to drop bombs on those people. I support athletes who want to compete with their friends from around the world despite their government's failings. You support politics.
I will. Thanks.
