Ottawa's chief of police suggested Wednesday that the Canadian Armed Forces might have to be called in to handle the lingering protesters in the Canadian capital.
"This is a national issue, not an Ottawa issue," Ottawa police Chief Peter Sloly said in a briefing to city councilors. "I am increasingly concerned there is no policing solution to this."

My guess is that most of them are owner/operators, hence free to continue.
If some are company drivers and are fired as a result of their involvement, then leave it where it sits, turn it off and walk away.
If the shortage of drivers is anything like it seems to be in the States, they won’t be out of work for long.
Be even greater if they went along with the Government and then just parked all their vehicles along with the Trucker’s:-)

He also said that the Charter of Rights guarantees free movement. He has no legal authority to prevent more protesters coming into the city. He says police have blocked off some routes into the city, but with a city as large as theirs, there is no way they can block off all access to protesting trucks. The briefing was a big dose of reality for a City Council of Communists who are in an increasing panic as they realize they have no recourse but to get their leaders to negotiate with those icky truckers and farmers.
