Great, fiery oration by the man himself, laying out fundamental principles of Republican philosophy and applying them to the issues of 1965-66. Stirring stuff, even more relevant today.

He was too good for California. Nixon was a total f@#$ up in the final analysis, despite his considerable good qualities. He might have made a great governor for California, but he was the VP under Ike, so I guess it would have been a step down for him.

Just watched the whole video. It's as fresh today as it was 56 years ago.

BTW, did people have a larger working vocabulary back then?

Right on.

Nixon was popular too.

My father attended a Nixon rally out at Edwards Air Force Base, and it was believed by many to have been attended by over 250 thousand “pipples”.

Reagan was truly one of Americas most dynamic and best presidents.
