Measuring climate change: It’s not just heat, it’s humidity

When it comes to measuring global warming, humidity, not just heat, matters in generating dangerous climate extremes, a new study finds.

Researchers say temperature by itself isn’t the best way to measure climate change’s weird weather and downplays impacts in the tropics. But factoring in air moisture along with heat shows that climate change since 1980 is nearly twice as bad as previously calculated, according to their study in Monday’s Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

The energy generated in extreme weather, such as storms, floods and rainfall is related to the amount of water in the air. So a team of scientists in the U.S. and China decided to use an obscure weather measurement called equivalent potential temperature — or theta-e — that reflects “the moisture energy of the atmosphere,” said study co-author V. “Ram” Ramanathan, a climate scientist at the University of California San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Cornell University. It’s expressed in degrees, like temperature.

“There are two drivers of climate change: temperature and humidity,” Ramanathan said. “And so far we measured global warming just in terms of temperature.”

But by adding the energy from humidity, “the extremes — heat waves, rainfall and other measures of extremes — correlate much better,” he said.

Measuring climate change activism: It’s not just insanity, it’s evil.

The stuff that they have been measuring fails to prove the conclusion that they started with. Therefore, they need to find new things to measure.

So humidity is rising but climate change is going to cause global droughts?

How’s that work?

Which is to say that there has been no measurable increase in temperatures so now we’re gonna change the rules and look at something else.

I know of a warm humid place they can measure.

“climate change since 1980 is nearly twice as bad as previously calculated”

Then shouldn’t we all be dead already?

Cut down trees and stop growing crops. Plants add H2O to the atmosphere.

[[But factoring in air moisture along with heat shows that climate change since 1980 is nearly twice as bad as previously calculated, ]]

And when you factor in brisk wind changes, c,image change is 20,times greater than before

And when you factor in the migratory pathway changes of the monarch butterfly, climate change is estimated to be 40,times worse than before, but that’s not even the worst of it all

When you factor in the zip zag patterns of certain cloud formations, its clear that climatechange is 1000 times worse than its ever been!

The climate nuts were writing textbooks when I was in the 3rd grade (early 70’s.) Back then, they were frantic over the increasing CO2 and said we had, at most, 20 years before it because critical and life threatening.

Aren’t empiracle facts important to these stupid goons?

You aren’t supposed to notice things like that.

Love your tagline. It’s the truth, and we need to be shooting it from the rooftops.

Again, toss this on the table and tell the assclowns you’ll wait for the answers:

1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.

2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.

3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet.

4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.

5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.

6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.

7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.

There is NO weird weather, down through the ages, which cannot be attributed to solar cycles and the cycles as a function of the rotational axis of the Earth. What will these jacka@@es say WHEN (not if) the Poles of the Earth reverse themselves—polarity reversal. Would they attribute THAT to mankind.

So this genius has connected one of the only true causes of climate change (naturally occurring)... the presence or absence of WATER VAPOR.

Speaking of extreme weather NOT climate change there is this list of the 5 worst in US to date (and they left out the 1949 one out West- incredible snow amounts all having to do with... upper water vapor in the weather fronts):

The obvious solution is to spend trillions on the development of giant dehumidifiers. Problem solved.
