"I grew up so poor we gleaned fields for veggies. We would start out the week with stew and every day we just added water and veggies. I can stretch a dollar like nobody else. I have a nice big yard and can grow what I need. I have a couple of old depression era cookbooks, a casserole can last a long time."

I'm convinced that, at this phase of the game, this is how we fight the lefties. By starving the beast, and by becoming tougher people. By living a more spartan lifestyle, we become Spartans.

I used to make that too- “The never-ending soup” we used to call it- every day we would add something new like a can of corn or tomatoes, or cream- depending on which direction it was taking.

Could easily get it to last a week.
