Anything that lowers prevailing wages is AOK with the Freeper crowd, which is indicative of Republicans in general.

The vaxx rollout is causing a labor shortage. The dead and disabled aren't particularly good applicants. The uncontrolled border is letting in lots of unskilled labor to take low paying jobs that also aren't being filled by the dead and disabled.

The government "pay to sit on your butt" schemes did remove a large number of potential workers when doing nothing paid better than coming to work. The programs expired, but so did many businesses that failed for lack of sufficient employees. Many businesses in my area have reduced business hours. Simply not enough employees to operate a full schedule. It is common to see closed on Sunday/Monday and business hours 7 AM to 3 PM to capture the busy hours (restaurants). Even with reduced hours, there are positions open and a sparse staff.

The Immigration and Nationality Act sets a yearly cap on H-2B visas at 66,000 in total, typically split between the first and second halves of the fiscal year, but Congress has handed DHS and DOL authority to issue supplementary visas under the program if necessary.

And this is why the GOP deserves no support. Abdicating their responsibilities to unelected bureaupukes. Find an America-First candidate and support them directly.

I don’t know for sure what is going on, but I just had an add placed on a major online employment website, for a vacancy for a computer scientist. The listing was originally for 2 weeks, but after 2 weeks we only had 2 qualified applicants, so it was expanded to 4 weeks.

After 4 weeks, we had 5 total applicants who appear possibly qualified, and every one of them has a difficult to pronounce name, as in very unusual, not just foreign. Several had degrees from outside the country, and some even looked like they had trouble putting a resume in English together.

Is this for real, or is there a chance online recruiters are filtering what is passed through? We haven’t made a decision on who to hire or not, and will need to interview, but are for now just sitting here in disbelief at the strange results we were provided.

For real. My company usually gets 200-400 resumes per job posting but today we are only getting, well, none.
