Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that helping Ukraine defend itself is “about the fight for freedom” when asked to respond to Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s questions about Russia and Ukraine.
During his Fox News show, Carlson said, “At this point, NATO exists primarily to torment Vladimir Putin, with however many faults, has no intention of invading Western Europe. Vladimir Putin does not want Belgium. He just wants to keep his western border secure. ”
Anchor Chuck Todd said, “I’m sure you love being asked about a cable TV news host, but it has led quite a bit of rank and file Americans to ask this question. Are you worried that there is a movement in the Republican Party that has become pro-Putin?”

The same bunch said this about Iraq, too. “They are thirsting for freedom”, Right, thirsting to get us out of their country.
Any Congressional Republican who is more concerned with the borders of a foreign country than he is with the borders of his own country, should be stuffed in a suitcase, and sent to that country ASAP.
In every third world shithole, there are 50-100 guys who can wear a tie and speak English.
They have studied how to say, “Rescue our people who are thirsting for freedom”.
Behind them are 50 million people who hate the very idea of Western politics, religion, and individualism.
Never again.
Senator Portman should take his next vacation to the Donbass region and experience freedom between explosions of American-supplied shells
Excellent.
Stealing this.
Should have written, “Rescue our people who are thirsting for freedom - and make me President, my brother Defense Minister, my oldest son in charge of receiving foreign aid, and install a hot line in case I need the Marines to come get me in a hurry”
Let’s worry about our freedoms here in the USA first. Add to that this isn’t about a free and independent Ukraine. This is about the tyrannical EU trying to integrate Ukraine into their own tyranny and away from Putin’s tyranny.
No thanks to all that, I’ll take a hard pass.
Send a brigade of homos, a brigade of women, a brigade of “diversity”, a brigade of trannies, and a brigade of politicians’ children.
Gee.
A RINO told this to NBC’s audience.
Who woulda’ guessed ?
Then Portman should go to Ukraine and take Point with the Ukraine Army, there's plenty of Foreigners in it already, so it's certain they speak English.
Portman can stop in Afghanistan along the way and pick up a good US Military Rifle and a rocket launcher or two, as well.

Why is Ukraine my problem? Why do American soldiers need to be sent to defend a country that takes US State Department money and redistributes it to our politicians kids via Burisma? Who in the United States would benefit from such a conflict? Why should I care if Germany, and the EU don’t? Germany won’t even allow use of airspace by nations to help Ukraine!
The Media, big tech, Government acronyms, swung the election from the will of the people. Now they want to beat the drums of war, to demonstrate how effective Biden is at preventing it......or to profit from it, either is a loss for Americans.
Sen. Portman, do you realize there are probably a dozen or more countries around the world where we could be fighting for “freedom” with as good or better excuse than in the Ukraine?
Just another push for blood profits by the Military Industrial Complex - A.K.A. the Deep State.
Is that stupid or what?
We show up without being invited AND without firm commitments from our 'friends' in NATO. Just winging it? And yeah, sending 'helmets' was Germany's way of giving us the finger.
How about fighting for freedom here in the USA?
America has its own CCP/Russia United Party - its called the Democrats.
