Hogan’s an ass clown, that’s one of the reason’s we moved to Indiana.
You have to be careful around those seawalls though. There were always some idiots who would walk along those seawalls at the height of a storm. Should you slip and fall on the wrong side of it, you are a goner, nothing can save you. The 1978 storm was the most extreme I ever saw in person. Entire neighborhoods in Revere were under water.
Right; there have been several storms more “historic” than this. I’ll defer to the New Englanders as to what is historic in their areas, but for NJ this is far from it.
Some of the more damaging storms were simply early enough to cause damage because so many leaves were still in the trees; a few years back we had a storm right before Halloween that took out a lot of power lines (and for that winter we never saw as much snowfall as that October storm, which wasn’t a lot of snow but just at an inopportune time).
South Jersey for years now has a situation where changing weather patterns (certainly not “warming”) are often giving them more snow that northeastern Jersey; prior to that their climate was compared to that of South Carolina.
Thankyou for the welcome, we are living in Bluffton right now.
On the eve of Tuesday’s Winter Storm Stella, the National Weather Service got reports that its dire prediction of up to 2 feet of snow for New York City may have been exaggerated — but decided not to change its forecast...for fear people would mistakenly think the storm was no longer dangerous.
Ours is already blowing everywhere (in some places leaving the ground visible) but we’ve been warned that winds later will be an issue.
They just always seem to incline towards disaster when forecasting, and people no longer rely on them.
My daughter’s must not be far from you - north of Gorham. They’re hunkered down ...
As bad as it may be models backed off a little the last 24 hours
Cut back on on snow amounts by a few inches
Biggest snowstorm on record in Boston 27.8 inches I believe
I prefer to call it a snownami....
Got REAL butter?
Got blueberry syrup?
Got coffee?
I’m in.
Please bury the District too.
An old-fashioned winter!
Store shelves will remain empty a couple of days longer after being wiped out before the storm.
I believe the concern is drifting and temperatures. I’ve watched a few videos and some are getting hammered.
Yes...but no blueberry
Without a doubt.....some places are getting hit hard and it’s early yet.
