Very close. I’m a quarter mile from St. Joseph’s College, farther from Patch’s, closer to the bridge.
We’re hunkered down too. It’s possible to get out. Our boys are out in it, fishing and bachelor party for #1 son. Decent vechicles, good drivers, and “take your time” (plus dress for trouble) - no worries.
Got snow in the ATL!
Baltimore City outpaces it's 2021 murder rate with 31 homicides in 25 days
That’s very funny; hide the evidence! Years ago my town tired of people holding parking spots after a heavy snowstorm, using garbage cans, lawn chairs and such so they put a warning in the local paper that they’d be removing those things in the coming week. They sent front-end loaders out to literally pick up the snow (and anything else) and dumped them in huge piles next to a river along the border. As the snow mounds melted there was a field littered with broken lawn chairs, garbage cans, etc. - nasty, but they then cleaned that up as well.
We used to make a lot of money shoveling snow for people until we got older and realized we could make faster money simply pushing people out of their parking spots (less money per effort, but much faster); this was the age of heavy rear-wheel drive cars and before the idea of “work from home”.
That was great!
Yes but models had the storm a little stronger (even more wind) and a tad more NW
that intense deformation band south of Long Island would be more onshore in the eastern NYC Metro
Total precip in Boston was around 2.5 inches, got cut back to around 1.75 to 2 inches expect around Cape Cod
No snow in Florida, but the pirates are invading Tampa today for the Gasparilla Parade. Arrrrgh!
Please keep the East coast buried in snow for 6 months.
I think the issue in the November storm years ago was the hills on Routes 280 and 80; drivers had a hard time getting up and there were accidents. I remember news footage of buses stopped on Route 3 westbound after leaving the Lincoln Tunnel; they were letting passengers off to use the bathrooms in the restaurants and gas stations along the highway.
Another unmentioned problem is that as NJ ran out of money they eliminated mechanical inspections for vehicles; they inspect for emissions only - so cars with bald tires, broken headlights/taillights, cracked windshields, etc. (which would have failed inspection in the past) are more common. You can still be ticketed for those things by cops, but you won’t fail inspection. In bad areas the car fleet on the road can look like you’re in Mogadishu...
and beer.
... Got REAL butter?
Of course! No margarine crap around here.... Got blueberry syrup?
Nope. Doing Maple syrup.... Got coffee?
Just brewed some more 'Don Franciso Kona Blend'.
