RAND PAUL: Ignore ‘Bipartisan Neocon Consensus’ That Wants US-Russia War Over Ukraine
Based Politics ^ | Jan 28 | Jack Hunter

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is warning Americans that the Biden administration and the “bipartisan neocon consensus” in Congress are eager to drag the U.S. into a new war over the looming conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

“I was heartened when President Trump spoke of stopping our ‘endless wars’ and I was hoping for more restraint from President Biden,” Paul wrote in an op-ed published Wednesday in Louisville’s Courier-Journal. “Unfortunately, that wasn’t his history and it doesn’t seem to be his current direction.”

“The endless wars are ramping up again even as I write today,” Paul warned.

The libertarian-leaning senator is not happy with how the Biden administration has approached the Ukraine issue thus far.

“The war-as-first-resort crowd, including the Biden Administration, put 8,500 troops on heightened alert for possible deployment to Eastern Europe,” Paul observed. “Folly best describes the idea of sending a small contingent off to a potentially big war. This mistake was made in Syria and elsewhere in recent years.”

Paul explained that there is no U.S. interest in Ukraine.

“From our perspective, Ukraine should not and cannot be our problem to solve,” Paul said. “It is not our place to defend them in a struggle with their longtime adversary, Russia. There is no national security interest for the United States.

The senator targeted “neocons” as the ones wanting Ukraine to become a full member of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) and wanting a new war the most.

“The bipartisan neocon consensus in Congress steadfastly states that they will not deign to consider any agreement that would assure that Ukraine doesn’t join the military alliance of NATO,” Paul wrote.

Ukraine being a full member of NATO would likely mean U.S. boots on the ground if Russia invaded its borders.

“The neocons are trying to fool people that NATO entrance would lead to deterrence and peace, when in fact it is a recipe for war and disaster,” Paul said.

“Let’s hope diplomacy succeeds before we are dragged into yet another war,” the senator finished

Neocons at their core are globalists. They are rotting the American nation.

I don’t like every stand that Rand makes, but I support most of them. And sometimes, he is the sole voice against big, intrusive government.

Kudos, Rand. (And please, poke a finger in McConnell’s eye every opportunity you have.)

Like the pharmaceutical-industrial complex, the military-industrial complex demands to be fed from public funds. Add in the welfare-industrial complex, and this explains the massive increase from 2000 to 2022 of $30,000,000,000,000.00 of Senate-Congress debt.

Rand is correct, Joe sure the hell wants the US to go to war against Russia over Ukraine. NATO does NOT want war, so they took over the negotiations.

Well, one great way to distract Americans from all the feces that is going on in our own country is to demonize some other nation, mobilize the MSM behind it, wage the “holy war”. When a Dem is in power, the press is especially willing to aid in the propaganda.

Neocons at their core are globalists.

They are the new COMINTERN - they have an ideology, believe that ideology should be spread around the globe, believe THEY should lead it, and are willing to make war and revolution in small countries around the world to achieve it.

Sounds familiar to anyone who grew up in the Cold War, doesn't it?

Rand is happy to name Biden but won’t call out Senate Republicans by name? Why is that?

Has Rand said anything about the GOP Senate having no legislative agenda for 2022? The Not Democrat party is just giving us fewer and fewer reasons to vote for them.

Funny. When Rand criticized endless wars a few years back he was roundly denounced on the FR. I think it was over Afghanistan. That was back when there was a preponderance of enthusiasm for stupid useless unwinnable foreign adventures.

We MUST STOP re-electing Bush League Republicans.

Crapo, Grassley, Hoeven, Lankford, Lee, Moran, Murkowsky, Rubio, Scott, Thune and Young all need to be primaried in 2022, even if Trump endorses them.

We will never MAGA by re-electing Assistant Democrats.

The only GOP Senators deserving re-election are Johnson, Kennedy and Paul.

I just listened the DOD press conference. I have to say that I haven’t sensed a “war woody” like this in ages. I know everyone is blustering now, flexing their muscles.

It’s disgusting. And Biden needs to knock it off.
