Canada wimped out on sending that cargo of weapons intended for the Kurds to Ukraine. But Czechs are stepping up.

Remember Hungary in 1956. Czechoslovakia in 1968?
They have had experience with the Russians along with several other former Eastern Bloc countries.

IMO Russia just took too long to invade.
Unless it is brining a lot more military hardware or nukes I don’t see them succeeding, rather Putin just messed up by driving Ukraine deeper to the west.

I’ve been told they still haven’t deployed any medical units. So, invasion as of right now doubtful.

Russia loves their tanks, and have three times as many as we do.
The problem is tanks haven’t proved very useful in modern conflicts.
They move too slowly, are easily picked off by drones or over the horizon artillery, and are vulnerable to IEDs as they are not well armored underneath.

Interesting. the Czechs were the ones who supplied weapons and ammunition to the fledgling Israeli state in its fight for life against the arab states in 1948.
Czechs must be cool.

Putin doesn’t want to invade; he wants to intimidate. Instead of playing chess he’s playing poker, and SloJoe is trying to play Fish.

I think its silly to play poker with a fish though. How can you get anything unless you just take it?

“IMO Russia just took too long to invade.”
Ukraine is a country about the size of Texas. Pretty large. If they try to conquer the entire country, they have to bring supplies hundreds of miles into the country. That gives ample opportunity for Ukrainian partisans to shoot up those convoys. Arms, diesel, food, spare parts, etc.
100,000 doesn’t seem like enough troops to me. There are over 30 cities in Ukraine with a population over 200,000.
It took the Russians 6 weeks to pacify Grozny Chechnya, a city of 400,000 with just a few thousand fighters.
