A retired military official is warning on Wednesday that China could claim salvage rights to an F-35 stealth fighter jet that crashed into the South China Sea earlier this week.

Carl Schuster, former director of operations at the US Pacific Command's Joint Intelligence Center in Hawaii, told CNN that China's likely game plan will be to capitalize on its territorial claims in the South China Sea and claim it's salvaging the craft for environmental purposes.

'Salvaging the plane with commercial and coast guard assets will enable Beijing to claim it is recovering a potential environmental hazard or foreign military equipment from its territorial waters,' the former Navy captain said.

Only this Brandon administration would let them get away with that.

i was going to say it would never be allowed and that they would blow the remains of the craft up with munitions... and then you had to waken me to the actual reality. You’re right. They’ll let it happen just like you say.

Nice thought though. The Brandon Administration will give China a new one that doesn’t have any damage.

Only this Brandon administration would let them get away with that.

It’s not like the CCP will be getting tech that they already have, thru the Clintoon foundation, and events like the Los Alamos fires.

Q1: what if they have subs down there now?
Q2: what if we detect them and challenge them?
Q3: what if we can-opener one?

Just random thoughts thinking about tomorrow’s possible headlines.

The Chinese are fools if they think this will play. Also, appears they are not stealing F35 technology easily.

That’s the test then, if they’ve got the intel already they wont bother with a ruined submerged f35. But if they go after it they want a real example of the technology.

From the 'Dilbert' comic strip:

Pointy-haired boss: "Alice, youv'e got to lock up these proprietary documents you have in your cubicle. If our competitors see our plans, it could be very dangerous."

Alice: "For us or for them?"

The competitors (at their office): "Ooh! Look! They're planning to 'utilize synergy'. We're in trouble now!"
"Ha ha ha"
"Stop! You're killing me!!"

Not to worry, China may not have enough rice to dry out the electronics.

unless the ccp decides to go after the f35 that they do NOT need, just to put on the aires that they don’t have it, when they actually do.

In any case, I trust NOTHING in today’s news. I presume everything from enemedia is false flag, until it’s proven otherwise. And proof is hard to come by.

From my perspective, maybe letting them have a gander at some overpriced, over-hyped POS nth generation US fighter MIC-get well crap could possibly be good for us in the long run.

I was on the flight deck of the USS JFK back in 1976 in the North Atlantic when a Tomcat taxiing up to the waist cat had a fuel control malfunction, and it went over the side in full view of a Soviet cruiser some miles off the starboard bow.

(I was actually a brand new Plane Captain, sleeping in the cockpit of my plane in case they needed someone to ride brakes if they had to respot it...I was spotted in a line of Corsairs parallel to the waist cat, felt my plane shudder as the high power exhaust of the Tomcat played across my plane when it turned and plunged over the side...I only saw the exhaust nozzles and twin tail for an instant, but everyone was running over to look in the ocean)

The Soviets knew where the plane went down, and the Tomcat had a Phoenix missile on it, which at the time was highly classified being brand new and state of the art. We couldn't just leave it there for the Soviets, so we had to go through the deep sea exercise to find and retrieve both it and the Phoenix, which had come loose and was lying on the ocean floor nearby.
