Joe's Gaffes Now Matter

Washington -- Accuracy is making a comeback. The plagiarist in chief gave a long off-the-cuff press conference, complete with misstatements and canards, and now his listeners around the world are apprehensive that the Russians may take him at his word and launch an invasion of Ukraine. White House spokesmen have spent days walking back the plagiarist in chief's misstatements, but he happens to be the president of the United States and, as he himself has said, his words matter.

The electorate elected in 2020 a 77-year-old man with a lifelong record of plagiarism, lying about his achievements (and other people's failings) and -- well, dishonesty -- dishonesty in public and in private. The electorate elected him because they disliked the language of his opponent. They chose a plagiarist with a habit of telling lies -- at times, big lies -- over a very effective president who had a habit of telling little lies. Oh, yes, and that opponent, Donald Trump, has been accused of using coarse language in public and of harassing women, one of whom I have known over the years, and I found her dubious. But the plagiarist in chief has endured these charges, too. At any rate, we are stuck with the plagiarist in chief until 2024, unless we are unlucky, and then we shall have Vice President Kamala Harris to deal with. Finally, our first lady president. How did we get into such a mess?

Frankly, I think honesty and candor in a public figure are more important than rudeness and foul language. Look at what one misstatement by the plagiarist in chief might cost us. In a typically garbled effusion, resident Joe Biden shocked the world by saying that a "minor incursion" into Ukraine by Russian troops would result in lesser consequences than? Than what? It was not clear, but suffice to say that the unthinkable, namely a minor incursion by Russian troops, suddenly became thinkable, and that Russian President Vladimir Putin can thank Biden for making it so.

Biden has been given a pass on what he says in public for years. Preposterosities pass from his lips so often that I have even coined a word for his propensity to utter gaffes: "gaffable." Biden is a gaffable buffoon. What inspired me was one four-week period in the autumn of 2008 when he was campaigning against the pulchritudinous Sarah Palin. During that period, he claimed in an interview with CBS's Katie Couric that Franklin Roosevelt was the president during the 1929 crash of the stock market, and that Roosevelt immediately "got on the television" to address the American people. By the way, when Biden uttered this absurdity, Couric's face betrayed no hint that she recognized that Herbert Hoover was president in 1929 and that there was no national television audience in existence.

Biden's gaffes continued. In a debate with Palin, he was caught claiming erroneously that the helicopter in which he was riding was forced down by enemy fire along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. The press eventually reported the helicopter was forced down by inclement weather. Then he got into a kerfuffle during his debate with Palin in which he said the United States "drove Hezbollah out of Lebanon." It did not. More amusingly, he declared: "The number one job facing the middle class ... happens to be as Barack says, a three-letter word, jobs. J-O-B-S, jobs." Then let us not forget that at the end of this four-week period the plagiarist in chief tapped a reporter on the chest (I assume the reporter was of the male species) and advised, "You need to work on your pecs."

Yet now accuracy is making a comeback. In the past, Biden's gaffes aroused little concern. There was mild laughter, perhaps. There was a rude rebuke or two from people such as me. Yet it was all taken in as good fun. Now things are different. Biden is president of the United States. What was once considered a gaffe from the gaffable one is now considered national policy. There are people at the State Department, at the Pentagon, at the National Security Council, sitting around tables trying to explain the inexplicable. Also there are people in Beijing and the Kremlin trying to put Biden's gaffes to good use. I have no doubt they will. These missteps will not go away, and it is not reassuring to contemplate Harris sitting in the wings to save us.

{{{PANIC}}}

I suspect that the Crats are desperate. Now that people are leaving the Plantation, they’ve turned on Joe thinking to win
back Democrat support. It won’t work. People are finally waking up.

No, it didn’t.

“The electorate elected him because they disliked the language of his opponent.”

The above premise is false on several counts.

First, the electorate didn’t elect Joe Biden - Trump won.

But more to the point, the idea that if President Trump HAD lost, his “language” or his “mean tweets” would have been the reason - that is just another part of a fake news narrative.

In fact, President Trump’s popularity was grounded on an extremely solid foundation of promising to put America first, and then keeping that promise. A more genuine, principled platform has never existed in American politics.

This is why his popularity was such a threat to the Left. This is why they tried so desperately to dismiss his MAGA movement as a “cult of personality”. The “mean tweets” epitaph was just a part of that attempt.

He wasn’t Presidential enough. He was mean. Anything to distract from the fact that he was the first President since Ronald Reagan who actually meant to represent and empower the American people.

I remember a similar false narrative used on Ronald Reagan. He was called “The Teflon President”. He was called “The Great Communicator”. These back-handed compliments were designed to convince people that he had no substance - only marketing skills - it wasn’t that he had a good message - he was just a good messenger - he didn’t win debates because he was speaking the truth, he won because he was charming and had some acting skills.

So yes, the Left’s poor choice of a candidate in 2020 was a reaction to President Trump - but not because they thought Biden was a better alternative in any substantial regard - it was because the 2020 election was 100% negative. Getting rid of President Trump at any cost - that was all the Left cared about.

They never spent one split second worrying about who would replace him - it didn’t matter.

That is how we wound up with President Poopy Pants.

The 'electorate' did no such thing. The machine installed a fraudulent president. The machine installed a puppet who, at best, can only read a teleprompter of words that were written by the machine. If he attempts to stray from those words, he admits that he will get into trouble with those who control him.

The big question is - who is controlling this senile basement hermit into 'transforming America'????

Hmmm? I heard those words back in 2008 and they went something like "we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America."

Is that person putting the words on old Joe's teleprompter?

Biden was chosen because he was the only one stupid and desperate enough to along with the oh so obvious cheating scheme and they would have had no problem throwing him under the bus if they would have been caught and forced to confess their crime. Joe is a known liar, plagiarizer, fool and pervert.

Trump had to be taken out at any cost because the establishment ruling class (Democrats and Republicans) were having theirgravy trains disrupted. The amount of money that China and other countries send back to politicians in this country is more than most people can fathom and will make the cabal do anything to keep it going even if it means in your face easy to be seen corruption.

He used language the other day that could get us in deep trouble.
He mentioned ‘sanctioning’ Putin.
That can have several meanings.
The first thing I thought was he is threatening Putin’s life.

That man is so stupid it’s scary.

Emmett is being unfair to Katie Couric. How should she be expected to know a piece of obscure historical trivia like that Herbert Hoover was President in 1929?

Those are both good points - and I think they dovetail with my point - that the Left was entirely focused on getting rid of Trump - they didn’t give a hoot about electing a good President.

But you are right - their choice of Biden wasn’t random - they needed a useful idiot who is corrupt enough to scapegoat when the time comes.

..................
And that is my primary reason of not supporting DJT running for president in 2024.
It would be ABT 24/7 for as long as he was in the spotlight.
Primary, nominee, President, an endless parade of lawsuits, exposes, disruptions.
Even with a repub majority in the House and Senate the ‘rats and the MSM wing of the party would make trouble.

“And that is my primary reason of not supporting DJT running for president in 2024.”

Well, I think that’s exactly the wrong response - but opinions can vary, I guess.

President Trump is a lightening rod for sure - but appeasement is not the answer. We need to double down and do more of whatever makes the Left angry - and that means more Trump.

But there’s another reason it has to be President Trump in 2024 (if he’s willing):

They stole the 2020 election. We the People simply can’t let that go unanswered - and there is only one right answer - President Trump back in the White House.

Accepting anything else is just pathetic.
