They did the same thing to Miguel Estrada.

Democrats blocked Estrada because he was on a path to be the first Hispanic Justice, and they blocked Rogers-Brown because she was on track to be the first woman African-American Justice.

It was always about identity politics with Democrats. They wanted to be the Party to be first to nominate all minorities, and they were willing to scorch the earth to do it.
