This says to me that the royals believe they’ve shopped the proper judge for their needs/wants and believe they can have the trial in a district where the prosecutor is amenable to their whims.
I’ve no sympathy for men who take advantage of teenage girls, but it’s always been my understanding that if you seek legal redress for some alleged wrong, you’ve got to do it in a timely manner.
There are jurisdictional issues here. IIRC, Epstein had properties in New York, London, New Mexico, Florida as well as his private island in the Indies and other locales. At which properties does Ms. Gioffree claim to have been “abused” by the prince? Seems to me, that’s the main jurisdictional location for the trial.
