Well written and sourced article. Thinking rationally is becoming a lost skill in about half of Americans.

“and thieves”

Bank robbers. When it first started I used to joke with the gals at the bank because they were so dead serious and extreme about masks. As soon as you came in the door they would yell for security to stop me like I was trying to rob the place.

“There was a time when you could be shot for coming into a bank with a mask on. Now you might get shot for coming in the bank without one”. lol

“ That more than half of our country willingly obeys completely irrational orders raises the question: What irrational orders from the state would they not obey?”

That is my biggest concern. The populace here in Silicon Vally is scared to death. Probably 99% of the people on the streets are masked up. Nobody questions whether it makes sense…they just obediently put on the magic talisman because some government weenie told them to.

Lol…same here. We’ve got three kids. The oldest has been most nuts about it, but I see even her and her fiancé are just starting to reduce their mask wearing. But she will NEVER admit she was wrong.

We live in the same state. I will do no business in masked counties. My church is in one and, well, I guess I’ll see them when the mandate is over or they decide to ignore it.

I did break my standard to honor my friends by attending their son’s funeral a couple weeks ago. It was so sad. My friends had a hard time recognizing those who came.

I live in Harford County and went to DC last weekend for a couple large events. If we wanted to stop unmasked, we’d have to drive almost home. Just sick.

“The face diaper is the new fascist arm band.”

I see people every day wearing a mask on their chin, leaving their nose and mouth uncovered. They seem comfortable chatting with each other this way. It’s the hypocrisy that gets to me. What they’re wearing is a rabbit’s foot.

"Doing my informal survey at the Publix, I’ve noticed an upsurge in masks, even double masks and face shields. I live in Florida, where it’s not mandatory, btw."
I'm elderly (pushing ninety) and put on a mask when I go into Publix here in Miami because I don't want to be hassled by some Karen. How many of the other masked customers are doing the same, I don't know.

You may have had it but the symptoms were so mild you did not notice it. I am very sorry to hear about your son’s battle with Covid. I am glad to read that he recovered.

If you can smell smoke through your mask, recall that the virus is half a smoke particle’s size.

‘Course, Chris Plante (WMAL-FM) said he smelled smoke during much of his Covid ordeal—mask or no mask.

Let the elderly and those in fragile health (and their close family and caregivers) wear their masks and take whatever other steps (like avoiding crowds, etc.) to try to keep from catching Covid (or flu or whatever), while the rest us live our normal lives.
*****************
If you have a disease and are around anyone else continually (maybe a family member), a mask won’t keep you from giving him the disease. The best protection is isolation or vaccination.

My wife will tell you she doesn’t care about the mask wearing anymore, and then will walk out the door and don her face diaper everywhere she goes. Then she gets mad at me because I refuse to submit to the burka. She’s been mad at me for a while because i won’t “protect” myself. Then I ask her to describe the “protection” she’s getting and goes mute. I think I’ve finally unlocked the woman’s mute button secret (SCIENCE!!!).

most mask wearers don’t have any response for my observation that if they are correct, then most people in sweden with few or no real mask rules have now killed each other.

True. They are both vaxxed, but wear a mask in stores. They want to feel like they have done all they possibly can. It may not make perfect sense, but I can certainly sympathize. It’s a huge responsibility caring for someone in fragile health. If it’s what they feel they need to do, I support them and do not judge.

It's sad to see adult "men" and women wearing a mask, believing unconditionally that it will protect them from others and others from them. It can't; it won't, no matter how much they think it should and no matter how hard they wish with all their might that it does.

The truly vile, inhumane lie about masking is that people who really need protection from the Fauci Flu believe the lies -- not exaggerations or "misinformation" -- but the lies told to them about masking by people they trust; people who know what they say is simply not true ... but that they say it anyway. Any person -- any medical "expert", any medical bureaucrat or any politician or celebrity practicing medicine without a license who says that masking is in any way effective regarding transmission of a respiratory virus -- any respiratory virus has lost -- or at least seriously damaged their credibility to dispense medical advice ... and they should be ignored in this regard.

Just as whether or not a person is "vaccinated" is irrelevant to whether or not they catch and spread the Fauci Flu, so it is with masking which is truly nothing more than a dirty, nasty, personally unhealthy bad habit which, as with all ingrained bad habits, takes strength, commitment and courage to break ... attributes which have become exceedingly rare in today's hysterical, irrationally frightened America.
