You think that advertising is NOT intended to influence us on both the conscious and unconscious levels? You think political messaging is not intended to do the same? I think Clapton was using the word "hypnotized" in a colloquial sense, not a clinical or technical sense, the way a man might say he is "hypnotized " by a song or a woman's beauty.

The smelly author (I've seen her crap before) was trying to make him seem like a nutcase, as if he was claiming there is some component in the vaccine that hypnotizes people; her article itself is propaganda with subliminal messages.
