Mayor Eric Adams demanded assistance Sunday from Washington D.C. to block the “constant flow” of firearms into the Big Apple, days after an NYPD cop was killed and another officer was left fighting for his life after they were shot — declaring “the federal government must step in.”
“The police department is doing their job taking thousands of guns off the streets, yet each time you take a gun off, there’s a constant flow of new guns coming here,” he said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
“And if we don’t coordinate to go after those gun dealers that are supplying large cities in America such as New York, we are losing the battle, and the federal government must step in and play a role in doing so.”
During a subsequent TV appearance, Adams speculated that even though cops seize many firearms, they are quickly replenished by even more of them being transported to New York City.

The last thing any city needs is the feds coming in to lend assistance. Adams needs to stand up and be a mayor, and not act like the helpless, moronic, pansy he seems to be.

Perhaps - although don’t completely discount stupidity. There is a World View issue here as well - the left believes that people are inherently good and only commit crime due to their environment, while Christians (and most on the right) know the problem is with people that are inherently evil. Therefore the left constantly look to the wrong solution to the problem - as others said here, the problem is the criminal, not the gun.
Lock up your criminals & throw away the keys.
If he feels that way and is truly overwhelmed and is not up to the task. Then there is one last honorable thing he can do. Resign and have deputy mayor run the city in his place.

Boston University is very liberal, I wouldn’t read too much into it. Yes, AOC went there but in reality she was indoctrinated.
