With a few exceptions, all the leftist, communist, Marxist, fascist, socialist, anarchist scum gov’t, on all levels, need an enema, and replacement by Real Americans.

Interesting choice of analogy. Is this Richard Robinson the same York, PA resident who is a criminal defense attorney specializing in DUI and underaged drinking cases? If so, he’s really one to complain about unqualified people pontificating about education.

Yes, but he’s a perfumed prince, now, and untouchable. Or so he thinks. He’s just the hornets’ nest.

From personal experience, there is one word that local politicans fear...
Recall

Go to your local county office, and ask how many signatures it takes to recall a school board member.
Armed with this information, go to your local meeting, and get on the agenda to speak.
When your turn pops up, say “ XXXX, I want you to remember this number. This is the number of signatures it will take to fire your a$$”.

Believe you me, they will listen to you after that!

All of them should have a kid in school. Kid graduates. Your off.

You want people to keep an eye on the money, get a group of parents access to the budget, which should be public to all, and have them go through it and look for the graft, corruption and kickbacks.

Is he a board member or a paid administrator.

If he’s a board member then he’s an unpaid volunteer.

Robinson wrote that some members of the community interpret the public comment portion of school board meetings to show "why they have the collective intelligence of a village idiot."

"Some members of my community appear to interpret this part of board meetings as the occasion to tell board members why they have the collective intelligence of a village idiot and how the school district ought to be addressing real problems," the school board member wrote.

Those are two opposite quotes. One is that the speaker is showing he is the village idiot while the second is the speaker accusing the school board of being the idiots. I agree with the second. So, which is it?

“In the first place God made idiots. This was for practice. Then He made School Boards.” - Mark Twain

This sort of enlightened attitude by school board members is nothing new. I find it perplexing that it has taken parents this long to realize it.

When I talked about school issues, particularly about the attitude and competence of teachers and administrators, to other parents back in the late 80s, for the most part I just got shrugs in response.

That sounds like a resignation letter!

It should be accepted and the vacancy filled.

One of his main arguments lay with the idea that up until now nearly no one from the public attended board meetings to comment - that current high attendance and heated comments are a recent trend.

I’m willing to bet most people never attended because all of the complaints and comments fell on deaf ears and everyone just resigned themselves to the idea that it was a waste of time to bother.

I feel that way about the city council and school board where I live.

Not too long ago, the attitude of the students and parents was to support and defend teachers and administrators.

Every time there was a teachers’ strike, and there were many, students and parents would show up all ga-ga about supporting our WONDERFUL SCHOOL PERSONNEL.

The Unions arrived and a slow, slick change began.

And THIS is what we have today.

The School Board running interference is just now being a REAL BIG PART OF THE PROBLEM.

Thank Heaven, it has reached critical mass and people really want to solve this giant problem
