President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 rematch, a McLaughlin & Associates survey released this week found.
The survey, which found 81 percent of Republican primary voters indicating that they would support Trump for the Republican nomination, asked respondents across the board, “If the 2024 Presidential election were held today, which one of the following best describes how you would vote in the general election for President between Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, and Joe Biden, the Democrat candidate, for whom would you vote?”
According to the survey, 49 percent say they would vote for Trump compared to 44 percent who said Biden. Of those who said they would support Trump, 37 percent said they “definitely” would, while 35 percent said the same for Biden. Seven percent, overall, remain undecided, which is larger than Trump’s 5-point lead.
Trump takes an even greater lead when Biden is replaced with Vice President Kamala Harris, leading her 51 percent to 40 percent.
Notably, the survey asked the same question with a potential rematch for Trump and Hillary Clinton. In that scenario, Trump trounces Clinton by double digits, 51 percent to 41 percent.

He beat Biden by 6-8 points in 2020 and they stole it. What is to stop them from stealing it again?
Try not to fall into a self-fulfilling prophecy trap. Lots of good things are going on. In Virginia they have to count the absentee ballots first, we’re getting rid of drop boxes in GA and in Wisconsin, Biden is a disaster and exposed as a fraud, people see how good it really was under Trump, usually we would be down 8% in those polls, now we are up by a lot, lots of good stuff going on and more to come.
...and there are a whole lot of ambitious prosecutors out there who vote D. I'd be amazed if PDJT isn't under indictment in '24. They intend to stop him by any means possible.
I'd say polls are pretty much irrelevant at this point in the game. Not that I don't think Trump could beat Biden, of course, just saying.
And if he was down by 5, instead of up by 5, you would be saying this proves we need go with your other candidate.

That's the main issue I have. But people would rather argue about who our nominee will be in 2024, rather than pressuring these pols to secure 2022 now.
Trump was way ahead of Biden in 2020 but the final outcome was very unexpected. History can repeat itself.
Trump was actually down in all the polls in 2020 anywhere from 4.5 to 10%. RCP average Biden was up 7%.
