Arizona Democrats censure Sinema for blocking voting bill

PHOENIX (AP) — U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema is growing increasingly isolated from some of her party’s most influential officials and donors after playing a key role in scuttling voting rights legislation that many Democrats consider essential to preserving democracy.

Leaders of the Arizona Democratic Party voted Saturday to censure Sinema, a symbolic condemnation for the woman who just three years ago brought the party an Arizona Senate seat for the first time in a generation.

Donors are threatening to walk away. Several groups are already collecting money for an eventual primary challenge, even though she’s not on the ballot until 2024. Young activists are holding a second hunger strike to draw attention to Sinema’s vote.

The moves offer a preview of the persistent opposition Sinema will likely face within her own party in the two years before she next appears on a ballot. The independent streak that has given her tremendous leverage over the agenda in Washington has enraged many Democrats back home who are intent on preventing her reelection.

Sinema’s defenders say nobody who’s watched her for the past decade should be surprised by her position. She often bucked her party in the House, ran an aggressively moderate campaign for Senate and has never wavered in her support for upholding the filibuster.

She is bucking the Democrats, but is she bucking her constituents?

Sooooo sad. I’ll bet she’s crushed to learn of this. NOT! Maybe the can turn their backs to her is she happens to wander by. Maybe shun her too. That’ll teach her.

I’d never vote for her but she did save the country from a leftist dictatorship. I recently meet Blake Masters who is running for Arizona’s other Senate seat. I’d gladly vote for him.

Not at all! The only “constituents that are complaining are the liberals.

Most of Arizona is still red.

Time to do your own kind of condemnations, Sinema, and in your case, it should be a lot more than symbolic...

Change party, to independent, or perhaps republican.

No more screwing around or getting screwed.

The Arizona Democrat (Socialists) can censure all they want, but it most likely won’t affect Senator Sinema much if at all. Everybody but her constituents are against her.

She seems to be reading the room a lot better than the Democrat (Socialist) party bosses.

Maybe they shouldn’t have sent their Antifa / #BLM street thug army to stalk and harass her a coupl of monhs ago when she first started making noises of moving somewhat off the leftist plantation.

Some people just don’t react to threats and intimidation in the way that you want them to.

“Democracy” is the Democrat euphemism for systematic vote fraud.

Is Senator Sinema the next feminist defector from the Democratic plantation, like Tulsi Gabbard and Naomi Wolf?

“Young activists are holding a second hunger strike to draw attention to Sinema’s vote.”

Hunger strikes start to lose effect when you have to keep doing them multiple times...

Don’t get too excited about Tulsi Gabbard. She is one of Klaus Schwab’s minions, and she plays a much deeper and more dangerous game than the typical party line Democrat legislator or operative.
