The past and current master of the GOP sees a future threat arising.

“It was a mistake to ever embrace Donald Trump, and now we want to be the party of Adam Kinzinger.”

Would DeSantis be audacious enough to run against Trump in 2024? The case against waiting is that it’s extremely unlikely that the governor can maintain his exalted status in the party until 2028.
On the other hand, the case against running in 2024 is that it involves the enormous risk of encountering the business end of the Trump buzz saw, which could change DeSantis’s image in the party forever.

I have heard that it will be a Trump-DeSantis ticket and they will win.
I rather like the idea
All of them
So Ok, maybe not all state , but inflation will still be in double digits, crime will still be out of control, God knows what Russia & China will do, all the Afghan Yutes Joe imported will be organized and likely will have set off attacks, Antifa & BLM won't be quiet, maybe a stock market collapse.
A Ham sandwich running as a Republican will win.
There won't be enough voter fraud to matter,
Obamalamadingdong started with a bad economy, and despite his best efforts things were improving.
Biden started with a booming economy and will run it into the ground by the time he is done.
I’ve been in the same boat as Desantic, family wise.
You are right. It is difficult to work yourself up over anything but helping your spouse.
If he passes this time around from that, that simply gets him respect from me.
De Santis would be horsewhipped in the primaires. It’s a waste of time for him to run against Trump.
You need to get the independent voters in places where it matters.
The only way Youngkin won was to not get into the Trump stuff. Had he been a Trump supporter we would be looking at Terry in VA.
That will play out across the country. In close races, they will keep Trump at arm’s length.
I think the opposite of your argument is true. The Republicans will come out in droves against Biden. The Indy’s want to, but they won’t if its Trump.
This had nothing to do with them being “real” repubicans. It has to do with the Karens. And unfortunately...the Karens are going to rule this next couple rounds of elections.
And based on some broad experience with elderly men...those last 9 years are often filled with vitality and absolutely no health issues. //sarcasm
You drive a car that has 200,000 miles on it, hoses and parts are going to break just because.
Its the same with old men who have been under stress their entire lives. You might think they “thrive on it”, but in the end that artery in their heads burst.
If you want to think he is capable of this at his age, good for you. The odds are greatly against it.
And...its time to get someone in there who understands not only what is going on in the world, but what the future looks like. Catch phrases aren’t going to work again.
You have badly misquoted the article by taking a quote completely out of context.
You deserve to be banned from FR.
You quote:
But here’s what Lowry ACTUALLTY wrote:
You are as bad as any leftist propagandist.
The only actual information you can get from this article is that Lowry is a useful idiot for the opposition, and is stirring up conflict between two people that does not actually exist
I am 78. I think Trump is capable, mentally and physically. Presumably, he has/will have access to the very best of American medicine. No one can predict the future.
The effects of age vary depending on the individual, their lifestyle and genes. Trump neither smokes nor drinks alcohol. He seems to exercise regularly by playing golf. His performance at recent rallies indicates a vital, energetic persona.
Trump is not that unusual when you look at successful people today well into their 70s and 80s. We may not like Fauci (81), but he is certainly able to function. Scalia was 79. Clint Eastwood (91) is still making movies. I could list thousands of people who are in their 70s and 80s who are leading active and productive lives. Trump is one of them.
What I am waiting for is a Republican to read Nancy's Pelosi's words on the need for the 25th Amendment to be invoked - which she wanted triggered against Trump - into the Congressional Record. At the end, say "Ooops, I guess I misplaced my speech and merely quoted verbatim, the Speaker of the House!"
But OMG, we are not far away from that situation - a 25th Amendment process.
I disagree.
In 2018, DeSantis barely beat the controversial Black Democrat Mayor of Tallahassee for Florida Governor.
DeSantis has excellent executive skills and a rock solid Conservative philosophy.
But, I do not think he has the political skills to win a national election against the MSM and a united Democrat Party.
It always fails me why republicans don’t plan ahead like this. However, both Trump and DeSantis are residents of Florida, so that wouldn’t work.
But this would be my choice.
More stupid clickbait from the useless clown Rich Lowry at the National Review garbage site.
Rich Lowery is not who you think he is. He is worse.
He changes his colors so often, he is not to be trusted.
Lowry is a Trump hater from way back. He can ESAD in my opinion.
Why wouldn’t they cooperate?
Yes or maybe and Trump probably would prefer to be a king maker.
I think so. Trump just re-runs the same stuff that worked over and over, but the stuff (except for the fanboys) is getting old. He should be stirring people up to fight, but wastes his time on the insult. DeSantis is a fighter. And has a track record of accomplishments. Besides, Trump is only good for 4 years, and then he is out.
Nope. Making Trump an enemy is not a good move.
No one can beat Trump, the nomination is his if he wants it… period
