resident Joe Biden joined Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and numerous other Democrats this week in a partisan attempt to preemptively delegitimize the 2022 election. Twice the president was asked by reporters whether voters could trust the electoral system, and twice the president contended that a fair election was unlikely unless the Senate was blown up and the Democrats' election power grab was passed -- a maneuver that poses a far more serious and lasting threat to the constitutional order than anything Donald Trump is cooking up right now.
"I think it would easily be illegitimate," said Biden. "The increase in the prospect of being illegitimate is in proportion to not being able to get these reforms passed." Vice President Kamala Harris, sent out on the morning shows Thursday, offered basically the same position.
For people lamenting the "Big Lie," this is nothing new. Trump's election fraud conspiracy theories have been endlessly documented. Sometimes it sounds as if he has merely appropriated the language of Democrats, who've been playing this ugly game for years. And it's not only the post-election evidence-free Stacey Abrams-style sore-loserism that we're typically subjected to. It's far more pervasive.
During Trump's first impeachment -- headier times, when we were still pretending to care about the fate of Ukraine rather than inviting Vladimir Putin to take a slice -- Democrats argued that ousting Trump was a precondition to a fair election. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi warned colleagues that maintaining the position that elections should decide Trump's fate was "dangerous" and "only adds to the urgency of our action, because the President is jeopardizing the integrity of the 2020 elections." Adam Schiff, one of the leading culprits in the Russia "collusion" swindle, concurred: "The President's misconduct cannot be decided at the ballot box, for we cannot be assured that the vote will be fairly won."
Never once, incidentally, have any of these people offered a scintilla of evidence demonstrating that a single person's vote was changed, altered or appropriated by Trump or Russians or anyone else. Yet at one point, a healthy majority of Democrats claimed to believe that Putin had altered vote tallies. How many Democrats still believe it?
These days, it's difficult to recount the slew of bizarre Russia-hysterics and various other fantastical stories taken up by Democrats and their allies in pursuit of undermining trust in the 2016 election -- and the 2020 contest, just in case. Remember those insane politicians chaining themselves to mailboxes as if they were holdouts at Masada? Democrats spread pictures of locked mailboxes in places such as Burbank, California -- a hotbed of contemporary white supremacism, no doubt -- that were actually meant to stop criminality, not voting?
Pelosi called back the House for an emergency session to deal with the "crisis" of "operational changes" made "slowing the mail and jeopardizing the integrity of the election." These turned out to be routine cost-cutting reforms, which Pelosi knew well. It was another effort to corrode trust in 2020 and advocate the anarchic COVID-era voting regimes that Democrats now want to normalize in every state.
Needless to say, political journalists did not stalk every elected Democrat, demanding their solemn attestation to the sanctity of the 2016 presidential election lest they be expelled from society as apostates of "democracy." Far from it. Hillary Clinton claimed that Trump was an "illegitimate" president on numerous occasions, later advising Biden not to concede under any circumstances in a close race. And when Democrats were gaming out a potential 2020 loss -- a scenario that did not "look that different from 2016," with "a big popular win for Mr. Biden, and a narrow electoral defeat" (in other words, a legitimate Trump victory) -- leading Democratic Party strategist John Podesta, playing the role of Biden, refused to concede the race. Instead, he alleged "voter suppression" and then persuaded Democratic governors of Trump-won states to send pro-Biden electors to the Electoral College and try to steal the election. In another scenario, a Democratic House unilaterally named!
Biden president.
Horrifying, right?
Mitch & McCarthy are all over this potential voter theft.
Thanks, now I'll sleep better tonight knowing this.
Other nations allow voting at their embassies worldwide for citizens who are traveling. But it is only one election day.
This reduces the need for extended voting and even absentee ballots.
Embassies and military bases are US soil and voting should be conducted at these.
I think the Kentucky gubernatorial vote counting last time was a dry run for the presidential vote counting in 2020. Same thing happened. All the republicans won - except for the governor.
Before early voting came to Tennessee my husband and I voted absent because we were not going to be here for the particular election as we were going to a family reunion his niece held in Rochester, New York.
And many of you complain about early voting. If someone knows he or she won’t be here for the election, why should they not take advantage of the early voting opportunity?
The crime web has been set up decades ago. once your in you don’t get out and you follow your instructions or else
I remember reading in 1966..the book NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON. How Lyndon Baines Johnson stole his first election in Deaf Smith County vote rigging. Nothing was ever done. I wondered THEN, why changes were not made!
That is the purpose of absentee ballots.
David Boies went into court and pleaded the idea that "voter intent" was the critical issue.
This was an attempt to resurrect Rousseau's concept of General Will, rather than meaningless arithmetical counting of votes, as the ticket to legitimacy.
This was cut short by the Supreme Court decision Bush v. Gore (wrongly decided, BTW), but revived with Thomas Frank's book What's the Matter With Kansas?after Bush beat Kerry.
The book was a ripoff of Lenin's "What is to be Done?", and the point - that workers were voting against their interests because the bosses controlled their sources of information - was the same.
They still believe this, and therefore cannot and will not accept an election result that has them losing.
Democrats Have Been Delegitimizing Elections Since 1960
I remember reading in 1966.

Missed the 1960 Presidential election stolen by Mayor Daley?
Yup we have to go back to paper ballots, receipts, voter ID and 1 day voting.
The only people that can vote by mail would be military and diplomats stationed overseas along with people bed bound. Too sick or old to make it. For instance, the elderly.
They have been testing this in multiple heavy Democratic areas for years. If you remember, in 2012, certain precincts in Philadelphia went 100% to 0% for Obama. Romney did not get a single vote. I was there and the polling places were empty, but turnout was over 100% of registered voters.
The secret is to have enough registered voters in Democratic controlled precincts to swing statewide elections. That gives them control over the White House, Senate, Governor's office, State Attorney General, State Secretary of State, State Supreme Courts, etc.
The voters do not have to show up and actually vote. They voting is done on behalf of those registered. Any audit would not detect this. It would only certify that the number of ballots equals registered voters. Remember, you cannot ask a voter how they voted, so there is no way to determine a vote was cast contrary to the way someone actually voted.
While they cannot control individual congressional districts, they can swing every statewide election their way from the big cities (Democratic-controlled areas).
Voting in a republic is a civic ritual with ceremonial aspects.
Part of the ceremony is that voters are supposed to have listened to the candidates and considered their arguments.
Now, we know this is partly or mostly fake - but it's still important, since it makes "elections" seem legitimate. Occasionally things happen late in a campaign which could (or should) change a voter's mind.
What early voting does is, it flips the script. It holds up the principle that it's fine to vote WITHOUT considering what the candidates have to say.
Now, you know and I know that there are tens of millions of voters in West Philadelphia and East St. Louis, and elsewhere, who know who they are going to vote for a year before the election. But this is bad. In a perfect world, no one should be voting who is not engaged in the process.
In African elections, the ballots are marked with a symbol. Each tribe, or nation if you must, has their own symbol, they all get ballots marked with that symbol, and they line up to cast them on "election day".
That's not the way our system is supposed to work.
If you know your vote before the campaign ends, if you do not pay attention to what is said and what is done and what is revealed during the campaigns, then our system has changed from what it used to be - and it's one short stop to declaring the result based on a racial or religious census without actual arithmetical counting of votes.
This is not, on the whole, a good thing.
They have been testing this in multiple heavy Democratic areas for years. If you remember, in 2012, certain precincts in Philadelphia went 100% to 0% for Obama. Romney did not get a single vote. I was there and the polling places were empty, but turnout was over 100% of registered voters.

Ha, ha, JFK lost his election too. Cheating and suppressing election fraud information has been built-in the system for decades. Do you honestly believe the Establishment wants the give up the power to choose a President? Trump’s election was a fluke. They almost made the similar mistake in NJ this year too (that’s why they had to find more votes).
Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
In the eyes of Dhimmicraps, any election they lose is illegitimate.
