A sweeping 2021 law drew a legal complaint from the Justice Department. Legislators in the state are considering several new measures focused on ballot access and fraud investigations.
ATLANTA — Butch Miller, a Republican leader of the Georgia State Senate, is running for lieutenant governor and faces a tough fight this spring against a primary opponent backed by former President Donald J. Trump.
So perhaps it is no surprise that Mr. Miller, a co-sponsor of a sweeping and restrictive state voting law last year, has once again jumped into the fray, promoting a new measure to prohibit the use of drop boxes for absentee ballots, which he says would increase security — though no problems with their use by voters have been verified.
“Drop boxes are the weakest link in our election security,” Mr. Miller said in a statement. “This change removes that weakest link without doing anything to prevent access. It’s actually easier to vote early in person — and we provide far more days than most states for that.”
Georgia was a key to President Biden’s victory as well as the Democratic takeover of the Senate, and this is the second year that the state’s Republicans are focused on voting restrictions. Mr. Miller’s proposal is among a raft of new bills that underscore how much Republicans have embraced Mr. Trump’s false narrative that voter fraud cost him the 2020 election.
One measure under consideration would allow Georgians to use paper ballots if they have concerns about the recently purchased touch-screen voting machines that were the subject of fantastical fraud claims promulgated by some of Mr. Trump’s supporters.
Another proposal would allow the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to open inquiries into allegations of voter fraud. Yet another would create a constitutional amendment to prevent noncitizens from voting...

Georgia opens investigation into ballot harvesting claims
" According to reports, at least 242 people made over 5,000 ballot drop-offs during the Georgia Senate runoff elections."
If the cheating were on the other side, these hack "journalists" would be referencing the ongoing investigation of stuffing these drop boxes with "harvested ballots". In fact, they would be calling for overturning the election result based on "indisputable evidence of election fraud".
But instead, they dismiss the story as unconfirmed, unverified, debunked, false. There are pictures and videos of people stuffing these drop boxes, but the NYT has no interest in investigating the story. Instead, they actively suppress it.
Politicians are the lamestream media. Lamestream media are the politicians
Actually there was a fellow, tracked with his cell phone, who harvested ballots and stuffed drop boxes with them. I don’t know what is going on with the case. Harvesting ballots is illegal.
The technology is there. It would not be difficult to make the process auditable down to the individual ballot, with that ballot linked to a legitimate, verified and eligible identity. In fact, every election should include an audit that includes a statistically significant number of voters verifying their ballots.
Watch how the unmarked ballot is handled before is handed to voter. What you said is true. It is being done before a ballot is handed to the voter. Ballot is tied to an traceable individual
But only if one votes in person
Yep, fingerprint or some other ID.
Yet another would create a constitutional amendment to prevent noncitizens from voting...

This is out of control. Next thing you know, they’ll want to keep the dead for voting.
How are you feeling? Are you recovered (didn’t you have COVID a few weeks ago)?
All of those RAT Bastards need to be fully exposed so that they can be taken out of office or kept from getting into office.
We all know that to the deep state voting restrictions mean any attempt to ensure electoral integrity.
Restrictions like registered voters who have proper identification?
I’m feeling great. I recovered after about a week. Thank you!
Complete bullshit headline, too.
How bout we tell them a vaccination card is required to vote!
people would just lie about being a citizen tho
Jovan Pulitzer still has the unanswered question of why ballot images share corresponding security hash files, or .sha files, instead of each one having a unique file name that matches each ballot, as Fed law requires. The .sha files use an app that changes an image into a huge number, and any change in the image would return a different number if changed.
Damn, I guess all that video evidence and sworn affidavits of cheating is just made up horse-hockey.
Egg-Zackly…..
If I’m not mistaken all of the Georgia leadership positions signed an amicus brief against the audit that was being attempted and subsequently denied.
Now, knowing that none of them have a chance at re-election, the ones that are trying to stick around are now, all about election integrity, audits, investigations, Constitutional Carry, and all sorts of other shenanigans.
Doubt it’ll do any of them any good.
Aren’t non-citizens prevented from anyway? Oh wait.
Silly me. I’m sure the folks in Gwinnett County are having spams over that one.
