Signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom last September, Assembly Bill 173 amended state firearms laws to allow California to turn over gun owners’ personal information to gun violence researchers.
Finding there was no “emergency” to warrant restraining California from sharing millions of gun owners’ personal information with gun violence researchers, a federal judge Wednesday declined to block the state’s enactment of Assembly Bill 173.
U.S. District Judge Larry Alan Burns heard from attorneys for Jane and John Does and Attorney General Rob Bonta regarding a constitutional challenge to Assembly Bill 173, a law which amended California firearms laws to authorize the attorney general to disclose gun owners’ personal information to the California Firearm Violence Research Center at UC Davis and any other “bona fide research institution” meeting certain requirements.
Gun owners’ personal information — including their name, address and age — is collected with every firearms sale in California and entered into the “Automated Firearms System” database.

This statement makes no sense. ?
Not yet.
“bona fide research institution”....sure thing. I am certain Soros doesn’t have one of those. They also made it a crime if you didn’t report that boating accident where you lost all your guns.
Better be some Brentwood and Beverly Hills names on that list.....
Correction...Better be some DEM POLITICIANS names on that list
It might be curated to only Pubes/Conservatives.
they tried this in massachussettes i think it was- giving out personal addresses of all gun owners- and other info- i think the SC weighed in on that matter- but can’t remember-
The left keep poking their communist fingers in our chests. One day they are going to pull back a stub. Bank on it.
We really should start doxxing the left. They do it to us and they are zero consequences, so...
Then publish the address of every employee working with these “bona-fide research institutions”
More legalized doxxing by the left.
I’d think this would run afoul of the 4th Amendment.
Uh huh, another one of those idiot activist judges. What business is it of anyone beside the gun owner and the certifying license agency to see the gun owner’s personal information? Another attack on 2A.
This Ping List is for all things pertaining to infringes upon or victories for the 2nd Amendment.
FReepmail me if you want to be added to or deleted from the list.

Nope. If that were to happen, it would have already happened. But the fact is, Americans prefer peaceful slavery over dangerous freedom, which is why instead of fighting back, we get up and go to work every day. Gotta make them mortgage/truck/boat/RV payments, after all.
I bet those protected like folks would be scrubbed from the distro.
What the heck are “gun violence researchers”?
For all that matter, what the heck is “gun violence”?
It’s a good thing there are no criminals in California.
And this is why the Home Address for EVERY Judge should be Publicized and all of them should be SWATTED on a Regular basis, They are NOT Special, they are Scumbag Lawyers hiding behind robes carrying little hammers.
I think that's when one gone assaults another. I keep most of mine confined in a dark, cramped place almost all the time. You would think, forced to endure that sort of environment, one would have cracked by now and gone off on all the others. However, every time I look, they are right where I left them. No attacks on each other. Mine must be defective.
