On Monday, off-duty LAPD officer Fernando Arroyos and his girlfriend were out in South L.A. looking at houses, in anticipation of getting married and settling down there. Sure, it was after dark, and most Angelenos do not venture out at night these days, but Fernando was LAPD, highly trained in police work and educated at U.C. Berkeley, and thought he had it all down. Then four gangbangers from the local crime organization (too highly advanced to be called a gang), Florencia 13, saw the silver chains around his neck and decided to rob him. Arroyos told his girlfriend to run. Shots rang out, at least one hit Arroyos, and he died on the way to the hospital.
On Thursday, a 70-year-old nurse was attacked by a transient, right in front of Union Station, as she was waiting for a bus. (Public transport is often dangerous for people who work in downtown L.A.) She died in the hospital four days later.
Later that day, in a fashionable neighborhood in L.A. — in fact, the location of the mayor's mansion — a lovely young woman and recent college grad, Brianna Kupfer, was working in a design store on the busy main street, when a man walked in and for some inexplicable reason stabbed her to death. Just a fluke, the usual reassuring lie?

It could be saved and should be.
Without election renovation as in voter ID, no ballot harvesting, etc. it is doomed
Los Angeles could be saved. But it won’t be saved because of the news media/voters. LA and California will ask to leave the US in a few years. They will blame their issues on the federal government and that will be that. Asians will fight Hispanics for rights to break off California into a separate country.
Watch for Apple, Google and FB to leave as well. When enough of those companies leave, or at least the workforce of those companies leave, then the irreversible spiral will have begun.
Where can we put our troubling troublemakers?
—
up against wall?
I hope not...as long as all decent people (republicans) have escaped.
Short answer: No.
Detroit is wrecked. Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, New Orleans, Baltimore, and Portland will follow.
...And San Francisco.
Wasn’t Officer Arroyos armed?!
You are right, secession is inevitable - and permitting it will be a terrible mistake.
The value of the ports alone, never mind the agriculture and the natural resources, should not be given up without a fight.
But once California is reconquered, the reconstruction is going to have to be ferocious.
Yes he was armed.
Guns are not a cloaking device or a magic shield. There are many, many scenarios whereby an armed and trained individual can be shot dead, as this case sadly illustrates.
“As I’ve said for five years, we are in a cold civil war. I have no doubt it will get hot. But it won’t be anything like the other one”
My personal feeling is the next CW or revolution will be between the haves and have nots not left or right. 50% of the country has made incredible wealth over the last 10 years stock market, real estate, wages etc.
The other 50% are treading water or drowning.
The democratic party is now the party of the rich but they have many poor constituents as do the Republicans.
Rich democrats are not going to fight rich Republicans. They have a good thing going. Neither wants to lose their wealth in a CW.
The city of angels is the city of fallen angels.
God really did destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. And Los Angeles is being destroyed as well.
Well, not just LA.
But they & San Francisco seem to be two of the more prominent examples of the outworking on God’s wrath as explained in Romans 1.
I want to live in Los Angeles
Not the one in Los Angeles
No, not the one in South California
They got one in South Patagonia
In a word? No.
A couple of months ago I visited my brother in Pasadena, has several great restaurant meals there, went to LA and visited the Getty and had a great time (other than the mandatory masking), and then went to Anaheim and had a great time in Disneyland.
The weather was warm and soft and fabulous. I can see why the entire universe still wants to live there, despite everything.
Portland and Seattle are right there with ‘em.
“likely a homeless person”
an irrelevant fact
“24 previous felonies”
money line
Is LA WORTH saving?
“The weather was warm and soft and fabulous. I can see why the entire universe still wants to live there, despite everything.”
A old car car buddy lives outside of LA in a nice suburb. He said no crime, it’s super clean, no homeless.
Like anything..location, location, location.
We have all read about the great flight from CA. Are these people moving due to bad conditions or did they sell their 1000 sq foot house for 2.5 million and will use that as their pension and buy a larger house in the midwest for 250k.
