WASHINGTON — The White House believes Russia could launch an invasion of Ukraine at any moment, press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday, warning that an “extremely dangerous situation” is building along the Ukrainian border.

"We believe we're now at a stage where Russia could at any point launch an attack on Ukraine. I would say that's more stark than we have been,” Psaki said during her daily press briefing.

One of the elements of propaganda is the rush to do something—do not give the person a chance to think. Think Putin would telegraph his attack? Our spy services are not that good, nor is Putin stupid. We are being played by Ukraine. Another “Big Bad Wolf” Move, act now! Attack Russia! But why? Who benefits? With NATO’s Help, Ukraine hopes to re-take all lost lands and maybe humble Russia at the same time. Cheap victories indeed. Why would anyone want a war with Russia? Biden needs it to 1) become a war time president. 2) Cancel the elections of 2022 to keep power. 30 make a new “bad Guy” to beat and unify the nation.
This could blow up in our faces quickly.

Not sure how this would help China Jo. Seems like it makes him look even more inept.

Why they want a war

Not going to happen.

I'm willing to make a bet donated to FR that it won't.

So what is our trans army going to do about it? Seems like American generals are more interested in virtue signaling than producing an effective fighting force.

Of course Poland is the ultimate goal for former KGB Putin. It’s a matter of when. Problem is in 2020 the USA became a banana republic. Other words the USA needs to work on fixing the USA.

Because Hillary said “Russia bad”. Remember we hardly heard a peep from Democrats about Russia until about a couple months before the 2016 election. All of sudden the talking points were the Russkies are real bad and helping Trump. So Xiden is just following the marching orders.

Well exactly. Russia is about as important to the USA now as it would have been at America’s founding. As in invisible or not at all.

We were just fine with the Tsar, and Russia was more of an Empire then than now.

Yes and for the decades of the cold war Russia was an entity Democrats were the least interested in facing off with. They wanted to throw in the towel I seem to recall. But NOW they want all out war?

Could that be it? I’m not saying I am encouraged by Russia as it is. But that’s not the problem of agents of the American Republic. If I were a global investor I wouldn’t touch Russia with a 10 foot pole. The place is as crooked as Mexico.

Our interests in Ukraine include the world’s best source of titanium, preventing the Russians from reopening the old munitions plants, and preventing the Russians from having direct land access to Europe.

It is also a US national interest that free nations, no matter how imperfect, remain free.

That means we’d likewise step up were Finland or Sweden attacked by the Russian thieves.

Good question. No one would follow Biden into any conflict after the Afghanistan disaster. No one trusts this administration would have the backs of our troops.

I'm not sure how you define the "best source". Ukraine is #6 in Titanium production - see https://www.statista.com/statistics/759972/mine-production-titanium-minerals-worldwide-by-country/

Why would be care if Russians open old munitions plants - anywhere?

It is also a US national interest that free nations, no matter how imperfect, remain free.

Yes, it's a goal. But sometimes we are not in a position to stop nations from acting badly.
