Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a once-loyal member of Donald Trump's court, is refusing to bend a knee to the former president and says backing him in the 2024 election 'is too much to ask' after Trump publicly attacked his character, according to a report.
Trump reportedly said the popular governor has 'no personal charisma' and a 'dull personality' as rumors swirl the ex-president is angry DeSantis hasn't declined to challenge him for the GOP presidential nomination.
DeSantis, however, has told his inner circle that Trump's 'expectation that he bend the knee is asking too much,' the New York Times reported.
The governor blasted back at Trump's criticisms, accusing the ex-president of being 'uncharacteristically out of step with the hard-line elements of his party's base'.
Sources close to the former president who have recently talked to him about the governor said Trump has grown increasingly irked by DeSantis in recent months, with Trump beginning to voice his frustrations to those in his inner circle.
The Florida governor is extremely popular in Republican circles, and is widely seen as a leader who can push policies popularized by Trump, but without the same level of drama or baggage.

It's amazing how many idiots fall for this kind of stuff every time the msm prints it. Both Trump and DeSantis have stated there is no animosity between them. The msm prints this crap just to create division. I am greatly disappointing at how many FReepers fall for it, every damn time. Thank you!
Last week it was an Axios article quoting anonymous sources that Trump was talking crap about DeSantis and this week it's a New York Times article quoting anonymous sources that DeSantis was talking crap about Trump.
Meanwhile, the Lincoln Project has made no secret of their plan to split that MAGA vote and clear the road for a GOPe frontrunner.
Fake news people! If it is from an anonymous source, it's fake news until proven otherwise!

They need to do an event or two together. Any pix of them together in a social situation at Mar-A-Lago?
The RATs are desperate to bugger up any upcoming elections — as if they haven’t thrown enough chaos into the works over the last two years.
And to attack a man while his wife is in the battle of her life with breast cancer ... beyond shameful.

The original article quoted a person who heard him say this as a comment in private to a colleague.
That person was not named and told this to the newspaper who reported it but no evidence it was verified.
In other words, it might have been a private comment of frustration but not his official opinion.
Or it might be a misquote or just made up to cause trouble.

I wonder the same thing. Sure, Trump CAN BE an absolute blowhard, but even this would be a bit much for him.
I’m a DeSantis fan.
Voted for Trump in both elections, but I would definitely vote DeSantis over Trump if given a choice.

Where is a video of him saying this? Do NOT fall for it. There is no “feud”. Everything is from RINO or Democrat “sources” who say they heard this and that. Rumor and gossop designed to split the anti-establishment vote.
To: Ancesthntr
Note that the article uses the word “reportedly” and phrase “sources say” .
NYT is spreading bool-sheeeit again.

Mistake on DeSantis’s part. He is/was the most obvious candidate for VP.

Kiss the ring, DuhSandwich (2 pieces of stale bread with "Duh" in the middle). OR stuff your head in your own brown ring and kiss your chances at higher office goodbye.
You are being auditioned for the VP slot and failing miserably.
"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said Thursday that he disagreed with then-President Trump’s decision to shut down the economy at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. DeSantis appeared on conservative podcast Ruthless, where he claimed that one of his biggest regrets in office is not speaking out “much louder” against the initial COVID-19 shutdown in March 2020."
That is just flat-out cowardly. 'Well, I meant to say it back then, but...' But what?
That Rush was saying it and so you sat on your tongue?? You somehow feared adding your voice to a resident of your state?!!
DuhSandwich won by just 32,463 votes out of 8,220,494 cast.
If that's not enough perspective, DuhSandwich barely beat a down-low, no-good, hopped-up jive meth addict by 0.4%. Think about that a loooong time.
DuhSandwich lost nearly ALL the Florida metros, from Rush's mansion all the way down to Key Largo, and got beat down in Orlando.
Gonna regret talking shit about President Trump. We just saw Cruz shoot himself in the foot just 2 weeks ago, and now DuhSandwich keeps saying, "Hold muh beer. Watch this."
Keep it up, Florida Man, you and your followers will be as radioactive on FR as the Tedlims.

"I have no doubt that he can defeat DeSantis in the primaries, assuming that DeSantis runs. But what purpose is served by this kind of mutual grenade throwing? WTF happened to Reagan’s 11th Commandment (”Thou shalt not attack fellow Republicans”)?"Tell that to DuhSandwich's comms shitshow run by a raw amateur, Taryn "Butterface" Fenske, who was fourth choice in DuhSandwich's comms sideshow after Helen Aguirre Ferré left, then Fred Piccolo left, and then Meredith Beatrice replaced Piccolo.
Oh you've never heard of these people? That's because THEY S^CK AT WHAT THEY DO FOR A LIVING, which is makes DuhSandwich suddenly look like a rabid craphound.
If Butterface had any damn sense at all, she would be buying dinner for Stephen Miller and hashing out a VP run for DuhSandwich.
Instead she is running a lame defensive strategery (don't ever hire a woman as your speechwriter or campaign manager) that hilariously mimics Romney's futile early maneuverings for 2008, simply sniping at McCrisis. Both stone-cold LOSERS.
This man Trump is the PRESIDENT, bitch! Don't BRING YOUR WEAK SHIT at THE KING!
