I know a few ordinary Republicans - not politicians - who feel this way as well, and it is maddening. They truly believe that if Republican politicians quit calling out cDemocrats so directly, the hard left would simply wither away. They simply do not comprehend how strong and determine the hard left has become.
I haven't been a fan of some of the stuff Trump has said, but the GOP badly needed to start challenging leftism hard and unambiguously. Reversing that "tone" is the absolute worst thing we could do.

Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan on Sunday said President-elect Joe Biden won his state and that the facta show it despite claims from President Trump and some of his supporters of the opposite.
The Georgia Republican said his message to those who doubt the election results would be “the facts and figures”
“If I had a chance to spend five minutes with every single person in Georgia that doubted the election results, I think I’d be able to win their hearts over, show them the facts and figures, separate fact from fiction” he said during an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” “But I certainly don’t have that opportunity”...
