Sam & Dave ~ Soul Man
Oklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plain and the power goes out and we have numerous power bump and power surges messing things up. No fun at all.
How's everyone doing this morning?
Thanks, unique.

Enrique Iglesias ~ Heartbeat
Howdy, EGC! ((hugs))
Sounds like we have the same weather. We’ve had several power surges in the past couple of hours. Knocks me off just long enough to be irritating. LOL! Hope your weather calms down soon.
Sounds nice with that halo around the moon. I’m not going out again tonight. LOL! it is 48 here now. Not too bad, considering.
Thanks, unique.

Casting Crowns ~ Praise You In This Storm
I’m pretty fortunate as am one block from a 24 hour gas station that has backup heating etc. they never close for anything. I think there’s certain gas stations in town that are assigned to stay open for all the plows etc. So with that they’re also stocked up.
Yes heat is the primary thing of concern so I’d just walk over there. Cash on hand for anything I need to buy. Such as water. And they have backup for heat too. This would be in worst case circumstances.
However in the 17 years here power has never been out in bad storms for more than a day...The town is really fast getting it back up in all weather happenings when it does go down...which isn’t often.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
It looks like you got lucky and are going to miss out on the nasty storm moving down. I imagine it’s going to still be brisk though. Bundle up when you head out with Gizmo.
Yes, it was a pretty sight. It was 34 when I went out and really didn’t feel too bad since there was no wind.
That’s a pretty big drop in temperature you’ve had. No wonder the wind’s been so strong.
Sounds like you have a well thought out plan for whatever comes your way. I hope that it turns out not to be as bad as all the hype.
We had an awful freeze event for about a week here last year, and we totally weren’t prepared. Our electric grid couldn’t cope, and all sorts of bad things happened. You see, Texas isn’t supposed to be a deep freeze. LOL!
It’s always a good thing when there is no wind. Especially when it’s chilly to begin with.
The high tomorrow is only supposed to be 50, so it should go down a lot more. I can still hear the wind. I just want it to quit. It’s very irritating. LOL!
Yeah, wind and chilly are a bad combination. BRRRRRRR
At least you and E.G.C. only have wind to contend with, which is a big enough pain, and won’t have the ice and snow we’re not looking forward to on top of it.
We’re all paying for the mild beginning of winter now. *sigh*
Yes, you are going to have all of the above. I sure don’t envy you! I keep hoping that the hype is bigger than the storm itself!
We hope so, too, since our area is expecting primarily ice with a little dusting of snow as the mess moves out.
Hope your trees survive the ice coating. And stay warm!
I need to head out now. The wind has died down quite a bit, so I should be able to get to sleep. See ya tomorrow! It’s now 41 here.
I’m more concerned about the power lines. It’ll all depend on how much ice clings to them.
Glad to hear the wind finally died down. It’s unsettling when it roars like that. Sleep well. Catch ya tomorrow.
Well in about 45 minutes I’ll be heading to the store nearby for last minute pickups. Put it off as long as I could. I hate the cold and shopping so I fight myself till the last minute!
I think it’s just the first winter snow storm they’re making a big fuss over......and otherwise people wouldn’t stay off the roads. Ice is never good for driving.
My brother can relate to you being unprepared. He’s in Florida and of course prepares well for hurricanes.....but cold weather not so much...and they don’t know how to drive in snow when it hits. He says people slide all over the few times it ever happens there.
Hope you found the things you need and that you are now ready to “let ‘er rip”. Batten down them hatches!
I can certainly relate to the crazy drivers! My job, when I worked, was 20 miles away and how I dreaded a snowy/icy day. All the monster trucks thought they HAD to be first on the road and slowed down for nothing...except the bridge rail, car in front of them or the median. Oops! I finally just started calling in when it was like that. I was NOT going to put my life in jeopardy with those idiots racing around me.
Boom!
