Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith made her first court appearance Friday to answer to corruption allegations leveled against her by a civil grand jury that, if they were to be affirmed at trial, would lead to her being expelled from office.
Smith did not enter a plea and San Mateo County Judge Nancy Fineman gave her attorneys and prosecuting attorneys at least through April to debate, through legal briefings, the sufficiency of the accusations made by the civil grand jury.
In December, the Santa Clara County Civil Grand Jury filed official accusations against Smith alleging seven corruption-related acts. Six involve ongoing criminal indictments alleging Smith engaged in political favoritism by leveraging her control over issuing concealed-carry weapons permits and eluding gift-reporting laws. The seventh accuses her of resisting an auditor’s probe into negligence allegations stemming from a 2018 jail inmate’s injury that led to a $10 million county settlement.

Where I used to live we had a sheriff that was elected and reelected over and over again. Was one of the most corrupt sheriffs in Florida. And his chief deputy as well. They were finally arrested and AFAIK are still in prison.......

OK! First let's state the Left's motivation:

Now let's examine the Left's proffered method for mitigation:
Equality of Income, otherwise known as Greed.
Their proffered method for redress:
Redistribution of Wealth by Government Edict, also know as Theft by Force (Eight Commandment).
Now I should point out that the more Leftist a Leftist is, the harder they enforce those policies, and Seek the Power to do so.
We know the Far Left is Marxism (and Fascism), and you will notice that Marxist History is full of Factions slowly winding down to Individuals that finally held unitary control over ALL the Power and Wealth of their Marxist Empires.
Progressive Leftist History proves that Leftists will ALWAYS Purge one another down to the final Marxist Emperor, they cannot do otherwise.
So Santa Clara Marxists will Purge Marxist Sheriff Laurie Smith or she will Purge them.
Using a Constitutional Issue to do so is just convenience and Irony to all the Marxists.
