Just minutes before President Joe Biden arrived in his old stomping grounds for the first time, Sen. Kyrsten (D-AZ), made it clear that it was a wasteful trip.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV)—her partner in inflicting intra-party pain and the only other Senate Democratic holdout for a filibuster exception—called her performance “excellent.”
Biden conceded he wasn’t sure that Democrats could get something done on voting rights...
Democrats left their Thursday meeting with Biden in dismay at the possibility of what might next. Sinema’s speech—timed to maximize its effect—particularly stung Democrats from Capitol Hill to the White House.
Most Senate Democrats declined to engage much with their Arizona colleague’s move. “I think it just speaks for itself,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT)…
The White House did not immediately respond to questions about Sinema’s remarks, although one longtime Biden advisor messaged The Daily Beast roughly halfway through her remarks that the president was likely “spitting bullets” over the perceived disrespect of delivering a speech torpedoing his agenda only minutes before he was set to address the caucus.
“Just colossally disrespectful,” the longtime advisor said. “It’s a middle finger, and it’s frankly unimaginable to someone who spent four decades in the Senate.”
Although White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters that she would not “get into any private conversations” between Biden and Sinema, those on the staff level were blindsided by the Arizona senator’s remarks until they were first reported on Twitter.
Within the West Wing, the collapse of Biden’s push for filibuster reform came amidst a torrent of bad news, including a Supreme Court decision striking down his nationwide vaccine and testing mandate for large businesses. One person familiar with the internal response to the Arizona senator’s remarks only sent a red-faced swearing emoji; another summed it up as “ughhhhhhhhhhh” with eleven H’s...

I believe that Manchin and Sinema represent a bunch of less assertive colleagues who can read the tea leaves and see that the Biden regime is a dead end. That accounts for their staying power, the knowledge that they are far from standing alone, and their apparent dissent from the party line is just that: more apparent than real. There have to be more than a few democrat senators who don’t want to go down with the ship next Fall.
Sinema beat McSally in 2018 so she is not up for reelection until 2024.
After what the Rats have done to Sinema and Manchin, how can they blame Sinema for doing this? They have stalked, harassed and threatened both of them.
No doubt. Gotta be some sweet payback for Sinema on this one.
Voting rights is just like obamacare. They had it prepared years ago. They are full throttle since covid got a Republican prez to erase God given rights and finish off this country for good.
Only God can save it.. why would He. We lost it under our watch. 70Percent wholly obedient to whatever narrative. Drunk with power.
Only the blood of the innocent didnt satisfy them, they know they can finish it here.
Thanks needle kneelers. You feed them with your obedience.
These bills must be really bad.
Dr. Jill: "Joe? Joe? It'll be OK - I've got a surprise for you!" | "Oh boy! Extra pudding!" |
The bills would create millions of excess ballots that could be sold to the highest bidder. Even Romney realizes that would be bad thing.
The biggest problem is:
“HE SPENT 4 DECADES IN THE SENATE”
Indeed the democrats hear the backhoe at work for their party.
