It’s play acting.
Flimsey is quite accomplished at it.
Look how many thought there was a new Flimsey 2.0 after his Kavanaugh performance.

Graham is flimsey, for sure. His views are as firm as Jell-O and he shifts like crazy but could Graham be setting the stage for McConnell’s removal? McConnell has little to no credibility left on anything.

Grahams record on voting for biden judicial nominees is all anyone should need to know

Kabuki. Graham says his support is contingent on Mitch proving to him has a good relationship with Trump. Then he's quiet for a time while behind the scenes Mitch continues working with the dems to make Trump radioactive by any means necessary, up to and including prosecution for fake crimes. Finally after a month or so when he's asked about it Graham announces that Mitch and he met and Mitch was able to prove undying love and affection for Trump so Graham will support him fully.
In short, Mitch walks in and everyone knows he's dirty (regarding his hatred of Trump), Lindsay pretends to be a tough guy and then declares Mitch cured. Move along.
