I’m beginning to think that everyone leaving the military, no matter why, is coerced into applying for and getting 100% disability.
I discharged off active duty after the first Gulf War. The medical staff pushed me to the point of embarrassment to claim some medical issue. I refused because I couldn’t accept taxpayer money. It’s theft unless it’s a real issue. Something told me it was a trap. Eventually soldiers won’t collect Government monies unless they accept euthanasia shots…or chip

This is all about politics, NOT readiness.Absolutely true. All this is now a temper tantrum originating at the executive level of government.
How dare some of these minions defy their civilian "leadership"?

This is no more than a gang initiation loyalty test for its own sake.

Lots and lots of thousands of dead troops will be sacrifices at the hands of the current folly. Not much telling what else we will lose.
Afghanistan was just the opening round. Even willing troops are defeated with lousy leadership.

That seems to be the whole point of this exercise.
The ones that go along with all this will find themselves just useful idiots. They will curry no favor for going along to get along.

I am appalled, scared really, how few have refused self-preservation.
It reflects the same attitude of not rejecting illegals and not knowing that there are not enough resources for all. Not seeing that taking care of them means someone has to pay, someone has to give up what they have earned, give up their own benefits. I am neither that selfless or what I consider stupid.

I do not see how the soviets survived the stalin purges. I guess it was the motherland thing that kept the troops fighting or fear they would be shot while retreating.

Is there a difference in principles and ideology? I think there is.

Not a good idea.
Readiness, unit cohesion, trust in leadership are all affected.

Our pastor did a two-hour long podcast about Critical Race Theory. IIRC He said CRT was created in Germany (where he is from)to break down the family unit. They wondered why the Soviets would fight so hard for a country ruled by Tsars and then Stalin, etc. They came to realize that they were fighting to protect their families.
Although I’m guessing getting shot if they retreated was a huge factor as well. I recall my history teacher saying how the troops in the front of the charge had rifles, the next several lines were armed with farm implements, and then behind them were officers with firearms.
It didn’t take long for the front row of soldiers to get killed or injured and the next row would drop their farm tools and pick up a rifle.

You cannot reamsoldiers for getting a shot when the whole structure said it was fine and approved. Honestly, that is not what I was doing.
However, as the left continues its transformation of the military, the belief that the military can't be used to enslave the American population becomes more and more wishful thinking.

And I say, “Welcome!” to those discharged. We could use a few battalion commanders in the coming conflict.
