Biden's COVID Testing Fail

Depending on how it’s prepared, asparagus provides -- at a minimum -- iron, vitamins C, and B-6, potassium, fiber, and a trace of magnesium and calcium as well. But asparagus can be tricky to prepare, and it can be expensive. So, what is a health-conscious family to do?

Well, let’s say the government decided to step in. A president might say, on some random Monday, “I hereby declare that, effective this coming Saturday, every American person -- male, female, and gender-bewildered -- is entitled to eight free servings of asparagus every month.”

But… how to accomplish it? We have over 330 million people in America (tens of millions more if you count illegal aliens and voter registrations); that’s a heck of a job. The government certainly doesn’t have facilities to provide such a service.

No problem, says the president, we will just mandate that restaurants, cafeterias, and fast-food places take care of providing it.

The government gets the credit for making some good thing easily available to everyone, without bearing any of the obligation either to handle the logistics of the plan or to pay for it.

Sounds like a win-win for the shortsighted statist, doesn’t it?

Those financial and logistical problems, however, don’t disappear just because the government has saddled someone else with their burden. The problems are still there, they have just been shifted.

Asparagus is an expensive vegetable. None of the providers identified here have budgeted for the inclusion of free asparagus with their meals. They will either have to raise their regular prices for everything else, or cut their costs by cutting out something else that they do, some other service they provide, or by reducing staff, locations, and employee salaries.

Plus, I loathe asparagus. Now, the government will force me to eat it.

Same with the testing of "every American"

Turns out Lesgo Brandon gave the contract to a small US company

....that will have the manufacturing plant ready in 3 years.

I thought I had a dream about this ....but here it is:

The Biden administration struck a $137 million deal to build a new factory in the U.S. to ramp up production of COVID-19 testing kits – but the new facility won't be completed until late 2024 at the earliest. MilliporeSigma, a brand formed by Germany’s Merck KGaA, will build a new factory in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the Defense Department announced as the U.S. hit a high record of 489,267 COVID cases on Wednesday

While the contract gives the company three years to complete the facility, it is not immediately clear when it will ramp up to full production, which is expected to pump out 83.3 million tests per month.

'Construction is expected to begin the second half of 2022 and initial planning and preparatory work is already underway,' a Millipore-Sigma spokesperson told DailyMail.com. 'We estimate that the facility will be capable of providing lateral flow membranes in the latter part of 2024.'

The individual said that the production of lateral flow membrane is 'critical for rapid diagnostic tests' that will not only help with COVID-19 detection, but also with 'any future public health emergencies.'

The deal has fueled speculation that the administration is predicting high rates of testing capabilities for coronavirus detection will still be needed several years down the line.

Others have pointed out that the deal does not fix any immediate issues rising from testing kit shortages in the U.S., which has led to massive wait times at testing locations across the country.

Sorry ....my bad....not the US company Millipore....but

Germany’s Merck KGaA

So he takes a NON-USA company to do the work.

The analogy presented here could have been modelled better:

The govt. does pay for the asparagus (or more precisely: the govt. reimburses the restaurants) BUT:

1) The govt. "authorizes" only four big companies to supply the asparagus. Restaurants, small businesses, and even private households are NOT ALLOWED to "source" their own asparagus, and people attempted to substitute, e.g., brussel sprouts or broccoli they procure on their own are subjected to a range of deterrents, from mere "disparagement," "derision," firing, to prosecution by law.

2) The asparagus must be grown in special labs on gelatinized substrates derived from materials obtained from human cadavers and then "treated" with a brand-new, never-before-seen form of radiation to "ensure quality." Because "time is of the essence" and "this is a national food emergency," this experimental radiation treatment is given emergency approval.

3) In order to engage in normal commerce, travel, attend university, go to the movies, etc., free citizens are required to produce a urine sample before entering any such premises. The urine sample will then be subjected to a special "stinky test" to ensure that the given "free citizen" is in full compliance.

4) To avoid the inconvenience of providing urine samples at every venue he visits in the course of a day, "free citizens" are given the option of reporting, at 6:00 a.m., to a govt.-operated testing center, whereupon they will be given a stamp (on the hand or forehead) verifying compliance for that calendar day.

5) People who report unwellness after consuming the irradiated asparagus are laughed off as "conspiracy nuts." Their numbers are underreported by officials, the reports suppressed by the "accepted" news media, etc.

6) Eventually, the govt. announces that the results of the forced-feeding of asparagus aren't good enough. The President addresses the nation and scolds us, explaining that he is "losing patience," so mandatory asparagus-feeding is also imposed upon pregnant women, nursing mothers, small children, and even infants (even if this means withholding mother's milk from them).

7) When supplies of asparagus are low, preference is given to "historically discriminated minorities." Illegal aliens are also allowed to cut to the front of the line.

I'm not finished, but - beginning to sound familiar?

Regards,

Fresh Asperagus is best. You can do pretty well by using an air fryer for Asperagus. It’s more like French fries afterwards.

“And, for the shrinking percentage of our population who care about the law, it’s worth noting that, in addition to being impossible, this order is completely unconstitutional.”

Well, at least this got a mention I guess.

The ‘testing fail’ is just one more reason to pile on to this administration, but the media will give a pass.

True story:

My wife is travelling for business. She got sick. They’re out of rapid testing kits (sold out, panic buying), and 4 days is the turnaround.

In all likelihood the panic created over this BS ‘cold’ variant (Omicron) and testing will cause her to miss her return flight because she can’t possibly get results back before her scheduled departure. She still doesn’t know if she’s ‘positive’, but self-isolating anyway to meet criteria so she can leave next week.

Let’s go Brandon!
