Oh, Chuck, screwed up royally here. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the Senate Majority Leader, is probably the only Democrat right now who can be in that spot. That doesn’t mean he has an iron grip on the caucus in the likes of the late Harry Reid. Schumer announced his intention to tweak the filibuster to pass the Democrats’ elections bill. Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) were already vocal opponents, which killed this idea. It’s a 50-50 Senate, though Chuck and the rest of his party think they have this wide mandate to do whatever they want—they don’t. And that mindset is why the party has nothing to run on in 2022. They’ve got nothing. Build Back Better is dead. And this elections bill is dead. To cap it off, Sinema and Manchin might not be the only Democrats who are against this bill. Sinema-Manchin might have already taken a katana to this filibuster plan. Now, this political scheme is as bullet-riddled as Bonnie and Clyde (via Politico):

Mark Kelly is not yet committed to a change in the Senate rules that would allow elections reform legislation to pass by a simple majority. A centrist who is up for reelection in November, Kelly said Monday he is still undecided just days before he may have to vote on proposals to weaken the filibuster.

Kelly might be trying to read the tea leaves. Normally if he thought his seat were safe he’d be on board with anything they left wants but I think his polling is indicating that he’s losing support and he’s trying to move to the center and be seen as a strong, independent leader in order to win some moderate (RINO) republicans.
Also, being up for reelection in AZ, he might not want to give ammunition for a very prominent orange-hued Republican leader to beat him over the head with.
Chuck has to grab one party rule before they get the BOOT ,LOL
Mark Kelly a "centrist"?!

He knows he is in trouble and is now trying to backpedal.
Kelly is spending a lot of money on YouTube ads.
Shumer is a total FOOL.
Mark Kelly is trying to appear to be a moderate because he is in a red state. He is of course no such thing and him not vociferously opposing the Cheat Forever Act or the Democrats other plans to scrap the constitution or hand out trillions in pork to their pet causes makes that obvious.

No, just the opposite. They know they have this ONE CHANCE to destroy the country, so they’re giving it everything they got.
They will still win 65 - 52 in the senate. They will find a box of votes under a desk.
I’m counting the days till this turd is up for election again.

Don’t worry the GOP will save the democrats.
Schumer is up this year. He may face a primary challenge from AOC.
Kelly is playing 2n fiddle to Sinema, he’s very lackluster and he knows it, he’s beatable.
Schumer never got over the Jan 6 “Erection”.
I feel sorry for Kelly’s wife—HOWEVER:
That doesn’t make him a GOOD politician for Arizona
It also clearly shows what happens when the Liberals refuse to lock up the clearly crazy persons.
Chucky got Rhino votes from Mitch for the Porkulus
bill and MITCH the Turdle raised the Debt limit
without a dollar ceiling spec.
With that said Chucky is a fool but not as big
a Fool as Mitch the Turdle.
