“Suicide bombers” is a mis-translation of Mujahideen.
Mujahideen is a general term of a Muslim “fighting for the faith”, which the Taliban consider all Taliban to be.
A Mujahideen in some places at some time may be a “suicide bomber”? Yes there are such persons, particularly among Hamas, Al Queda and ISIS. Does that mean all Mujahideen are or would be “suicide bombers”? No.
The U.S. apparently said that for any new American embassy in Afghanistan the U.S. wants 2,000 marines protecting it.
The Taliban answered that if that’s the case then it wants 2,000 of its warriors protecting a Taliban embassy in Washington D.C.
From that some news site converted the Taliban troops sent to protect a Taliban embassy to “suicide bombers”, and then other sites repeated that mischaracterization.
Believe me I am not trying to be sympathetic to the Taliban. They to me are just another Islamic fundamentalist group seeking to impose their brand of Sharia Islam on the population of Afghanistan, by force.
But I do not support the lie that the Taliban were suggesting to send 2,000 “suicide bombers” to the U.S.
It was a tit for tat with the U.S. on how many troops each country would be allowed to have to protect their embassy.
Of course that tit for tat was an apples vs oranges comparison, as the basic security situations in Kabul versus Washington D.C. are entirely different. The U.S. security concerns about Kabul are legitimate and evident and the Taliban pretending their concerns in Washington D.C. are equal is ridiculous and just a diplomatic ploy.

You are right, and thanks for the correction. I think the tailban are trying to garner world attention and western sympathy to get some on their side, in this case in a stupid way, just my two cents.
