Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) grilled U.S. officials on whether the FBI had any involvement in the Jan. 6th attack on the Capitol by pro-Trump rioters.
During a U.S. Senate hearing, in which national security officials from the Department of Justice testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on the threat of domestic terrorism, Cruz pushed a theory that has been made prominent by Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Jill Sanborn, the executive assistant director for the FBI’s National Security Branch, responded, “Sir, I am sure you can appreciate that I can’t go into the specifics of sources and methods…”...

The January 6 witch hunt had an interesting statement released that only denied Epps being employed by law enforcement.
Consider for comparison that we learned in ‘16 that the Hillary and the DNC was using PACs to stir up trouble (collusion between either candidate or party and PAC is illegal, btw) by sending in agitators.
Ted may have stepped in it a couple of days ago, but he and Rand Paul are the masters at grilling these ridiculously corrupt people.
At least not yet. But unless he turns on them I think he’s safe and will be protected. After all making an example of a loyal minion is bad for recruiting future minions.

I agree with your statement and won’t hang Cruz to dry because of a verbal misstep, but I’d sure like to see a bit more than ‘grilling’. I’d prefer the meat they’re grilling so skillfully served up on a platter with garnish for dinner. And we’ve been waiting a long time for dinner.
Trey Gowdy was, is, and always will be a performance artist Larping as a patriot. I think Rand Paul’s heart is in the right place but Ted Cruz is just, to put it bluntly, a faithless dick - He will put it in anywhere for the right amount of cash.
Based on my extensive experience watching true crime shows and crime dramas, Mr. Ray Epps is now under FBI protective custody if still alive!
