LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Amid a dramatic surge in COVID-19 infections, Los Angeles County's public health director Tuesday urged residents to avoid non-essential activities in the coming weeks, particularly those that are indoors and involve mingling with unvaccinated or higher-risk people.
Fueled by the omicron variant of COVID-19, the county is experiencing pandemic-high levels of daily infection reports and the highest rate of virus transmission to date. The county on Tuesday reported 34,827 new infections, along with 15 more deaths.

I think that’s why I’m getting more and more militant about this. I’m in LA County and I watch twenty-something and thirty-something-year-old men walking through the parking lots, or driving wearing masks. I’m literally at the point now where I can barely hold my tongue.
“I’m literally at the point now where I can barely hold my tongue.”
Me, too. I am on the verge of screaming at the high school kids walking alone by our house all masked up. The teens to 30-somethings are absolutely brainwashed and nut. One of them at the Apple store told me to leave and followed me to the door. I said “Well, there goes your $3,000 sale.” He retorted something like “Sure, yeah.”
The “doctor” has a Phd. in social sciences.
CDC data show the most common symptoms are cough, fatigue, congestion and a runny nose.
In short a cold!
I can’t wait to vote against my county (Contra Costa) supervisor who HIRED our idiotic health director in way over his head and with no common sense or finesse. Unfortunately she’s not up for re-election for years.
For CA (Bay Area) health directors, San Mateo’s is decent. Santa Clara’s used to be one of the worst but FINALLY is admitting it’s good for schools to stay open (she endured the wrath of parents when she tried to stop ALL SPORTS which went further than other counties, and some parents care more about no sports than no school. . .)
Marin is surprisingly good and so is Placer County. Even Santa Cruz went “bravely” forward with Marin to briefly remove some indoor mask mandates for an all-too-brief while.
WHAT! They got a CORPSE to run the LA County Department of Health?
LA County, it figures.
“Tuesday reported 34,827 new infections.”
Sad. I learned in February 2020 when this hoax began that counting infections is different than counting deaths. And that counting infections is not helpful, since 99% of infected feel fine after a few days.
The weirdo Barbara Ferrer had the name of a powerful saint, Vincent Ferrer, the vocabulary of a high school student, and the monotone voice of a ghost.
I know, it’s scary that this “thing” is in charge of LA County health dept.
