A suggestion by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) that he may seek to limit lawmakers’ ability to trade individual stocks if the GOP takes the majority this November is going over like a 500-point Dow drop among his members.
McCarthy told Punchbowl News that he is considering a range of ideas, from restricting members to only holding professionally managed mutual funds to barring lawmakers from owning stocks of companies overseen by their committees. He added that deliberations are still at an early stage and no final decisions have been made.

Well I’ll hand it to them that they didn’t even bother lying to us about it.

He is going to have to compromise to get that approved.
Offer Congress a bonus based on the increase in the mean after tax real wages of Americans.
In return they can’t hold or trade stocks.
That would align their interests with ours.
Or maybe just prevent them from holding foreign stocks in the beginning.
Prevent them from voting on any issue relating to a stock holding they own.
There are plenty of ways to start small and incrementally impose the restrictions.
Does McCarthy even have the power to do this? Won’t the House have to vote on it?
No. HE is not going to have to do anything.
HE should be primaried, and HE survives that, he should not win a vote for Speaker. Pick a conservative — and be sure we realize conservative means Build The Wall, Drain The Swamp, and America First In All Things.
It doesn’t mean lower taxes and assert American force overseas to protect “American Interests”. That is Swamp Talk.
All elected officials, and their immediate families, must be audited continually for the next twenty years, after their term limited time in office. If .01 cent of unexplained profit appears, connected within 4 degrees of separation of anyone they had contact with while in office, they die, screaming, on pay TV.
It would discourage the profitable incest, encourage more honest public officials, or create better and more clever crooks.

THIS STATEMENT CANNOT BE VOICED OFTEN ENOUGH!!! As another Freeper states very often, RINO’s, ASSISTANT DEMOCRATS must be defeated! This should be a Priority. More important than defeating Communist Dems. Eliminating the Enemy Within is of Utmost Importance.
I think members of congress should have to publish their tax returns. Isn’t this what they hounded President Trump for throughout his term?
Well, in their defense, how the heck are they supposed to get by while serving in Congress? Can’t fix parking tickets. Can’t get zoning issues straightened out.
How are they supposed to make a living?
