With COVID-19 cases rising and limited hospital capacity, Douglas County Health Director Lindsay Huse said Tuesday that she will issue an indoor mask mandate for the city of Omaha effective at midnight.
"We're not doing everything that we can to contain this astronomical spike in cases," she told the Douglas County Board.
The move is opposed by Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts, who said

The Governor is not going for this, and looking into legal action. The county health director MIGHT put in goalposts... but sounds like that is "iffy". The comments are pretty good.
These people are either innately stupid or willfully ignorant. What part of the science and empirical evidence that has proven that masks make no difference do they not understand.
This mask insanity has to end

Um, yeah! Those look pretty sanitary!! Wait until they are all packaged up and spend a few months on container ships! OMG that cannot be UNSEEN.
Yup. As we all know, those masks work as well in air as kid’s swimming trunks work in the water.
We could all stand on our heads and say we’re doing something. The effect would be pretty much the same.
Masks did not work at the start of the “plandemic”, they never started to work later, and they won’t EVER work, with present-day technology.
Fresh air and sunshine are both highly effective ways of dispersing and decimating the COVID-19 Wuhan virus. Lockdown of the entire population does not work either. The virus is endemic in the environment now, and we just have to live with it, but adequate and effective EARLY treatment, and by safeguarding health with zinc supplements and effective zinc ionophores as part of daily intake.
Losing a little weight doesn’t hurt, either. Obesity is a comorbidity factor.
But they can’t let the masks go, because that would immediately expose the lies they’ve been pushing for two years now. If they dropped the masks, and the bogus testing, “COVID” would cease to exist, and even the sheepiest of the moronic sheep would start to realize that they’ve been played for fools.

The question is: Does an unelected bureaucrat in a city outrank the governor of the state ... or does the unelected bureaucrat just make up their own rule, then command it be followed? (as did the governor, come to think of it ... all in the name of “safety” and a unilaterally “declared emergency”)
