Depends on the definition of “work”.
It’s like the socialism these people are so much in favor of. If it doesn’t work it’s because you haven’t done enough of it. And if it hurts you, you need to do twice as much.
For me, it’s about the difference between evidence and proof. For example, If I tell police that you broke into my home and stole my stereo, that’s evidence. It’s evidence even if you never came near my house.
That is why Tawana Brawley’s accusations were evidence, but they could not convict the Duke Lacrosse team, because, as it turns out, they were lies.
So, anyone who is vaccinated, yet still gets symptomatic Covid-19 is “evidence” that the vaccine does not work. But more evidence would be needed to make a solid case.
I think it is the math. To see the benefit of the vax you need to compare two ratios. Depending on the actual values, sometimes I can’t get a close approximation without a calculator.
The people doing the reporting have oversold the product so much that many don’t believe it has any value. This article pretty clearly indicates that the chances of being in the ICU are reduced by a factor of ten or so. The death rates are probably similar.
For most people like me the vax probably makes sense. For my grandchildren it perhaps makes no sense at all. After a full year of shots we should know a lot more. We’re talking huge populations here.

Makes negative sense.
But we’re living in clownworld, so it makes perfect clownworld sense.

Only when this is added into the calculation could your statement be proven or disproven.

Perhaps (though I think most data out there is likely garbage), but even granting those numbers, to calculate risk, you need to know what the risk from the vaccine is. Without that variable, you can’t do proper risk-benefit analysis.
I have heard of one case from someone who knew the people involved of a vax death being chalked up to COVID—dying three days after the vax was received and in death testing positive for COVID when they were negative before the vax—it doesn’t take too much of that to make all the statistics completely wonky.
It's no better or worse than anti-vax crowd claiming 99-year Betty White died because of the vaccine or any sudden cardiac death in an athlete being blamed on it.
There doesn't any subject without a political agenda attached to it.
