Doug Mastriano, the state senator from Franklin County who parlayed anger over coronavirus pandemic rules and no-holds-barred support for former President Donald J. Trump into an extended political moment, opened his candidacy for governor Pennsylvania Saturday.
Mastriano, who practices his politics with a messianic zeal that has helped him develop a sizeable following over the last two years, joins a still-evolving Republican field. That field has grown so large that, depending on just how big Mastriano’s base turns out to be, he has to be considered a real factor in the May Republican primary.
Pennsylvanians need to elect a successor to Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat who is barred from seeking a third term in the office.
On the Democratic side, Attorney General Josh Shapiro appears to have cleared the field of any serious competition for that party’s nomination for governor.
Mastriano’s key to success in the GOP primary would appear to be emerging as the top choice of the hard-core Trump supporters in the Republican electorate, something he has a running start on given his vocal support of the “Stop the Steal” efforts in late 2020. And he would have to hold on to them in the face of opponents’ counter-arguments that Mastriano could struggle to grow his base in a broader, general election.

He tried everything to get the useless RINO Senate leadership to call a special session to look into voter fraud, but they wouldn't do it. Mastriano is the real deal.

I'd love to see him hinge his entire primary campaign on tearing a new one into Jake Corman and making the entire campaign a referendum on the failures of the establishment Republicans who keep failing their supporters over and over and get rich off of their repeated failures. Corman kneecaps his efforts to audit the PA election and then tried to rebrand the same idea (with appropriate neutering so no actual fraud would be uncovered), as his own.

It used to be every firebrand was automatically thought to be a Democrat. Now they have to use the political adjective in front of it if it’s a conservative.
Language is so very important. Don’t ever let them control the vocabulary.

So that should tell you everything you need to know about Mastriano since he's battling both the evil Wolf regime as well as the backstabbing RINOs in his own party who don't want him to audit the 2020 election or any other. Now it's payback time for Pennsylvania Conservatives!

The American establishment keeps conservative ideologues isolated in the Republican Party.
Left-wing ideologues get isolated in the Democrat Party.
If either wing goes 3rd Party they become irrelevant.
