And this will continue after the elections this coming November.
This is very worrisome for those that like rules and regulations to be decreed by single individuals like governor and mayors, or unelected bureaucrats, rather than LAWS passed by the people through their legislatures.
Just as an example, I live in MA. Governor Baker issued a mask advisory (a problem in itself but put that aside for a moment).
The president of the Massachusetts Senate pretty much BEGGED the governor to go beyond the "advisory" and make it a mandate. Let me repeat, the president of the Massachusetts Senate.
She apparently doesn't know that SHE IS THE HEAD OF A LEGISLATIVE BODY THAT IS EMPOWERED TO CREATE LAWS THAT THE PEOPLE ARE OBLIGATED TO OBEY.
So she can CREATE A LAW mandating masks, which will pass, given the makeup of both the MA senate and House. And they could override a governor's veto (should one happen).
But ya see, they DON'T WANT a mandate to come from the legislature through a law. They LIKE a governor (especially a governor no longer accountable to the people, since he's not running again) passing a decree, a mandate, call it what you want, to be enforced by police with guns. Because legislators DON'T LIKE to be held accountable, and they would have to VOTE for a mandate, and put themselves on the record. Much easier for a governor or bureaucrat to do it.
But back to the article and the legislative trend. SOME legislative bodies are taking charge, and telling the power-hungry executives to go screw!
That is why many mini-dictators (gubmint AND employers) want Biden to push the mandate.

China should start selling them weapons/ammo.
How long does a KN95 mask work?
According to top medical experts in the country, the best mask to protect against COVID-19 is a KN95 mask...
But the author doesn't name one. Because KN95s aren't the same as N95s, are they...
Guess which ones NYS is handing out?
Though neither will keep out CoupFlu.
