Makes sense.
Looks like Chuy is running in the new 4th
Lipinski was making noise a few months ago about trying to win back his old seat in the 3rd, saying they made it more conservative or something, I don't know what happened with that. Looks like it didn't happen. Despite the GOP rhetoric about how hispanics are "socially conservative", every Hispanic-majority RAT district I've seen elects hard-left marxists. Even the majority GOP hispanic districts in FL seem to elect squishy "moderates", whether they claim to be conservative ::cough:: Mario Diaz-Balart ::cough:: or otherwise ::cough :: Ileana Ros-Lehtinen ::cough::
In any case, best case scenario is Newman and Casten bloody each other enough in the primary with negative ads to go into the general election very wounded (the less "electable" RAT wins the primary), and that nominee somehow end up losing to Orland Park mayor Keith Pakau (I'm assuming he has the best chance of winning since he's a GOP Mayor in heavily RAT southwest Cook County) in November. I don't know how conservaitve Pakau is, but I recently read the mayor pushed the town council to vote 6-0 that they would not support Chicago's vaccine mandate for restaurants.
Looking at the congressional races shaping up, there may be a silver lining to this crappy remap.
